MY favorite song for today is "Yesterday Once More". Heard it with headphones so i could hear every nuance. I like the middle part when Karen sings "its yesterday once moooooorrrrrre" she really hits a low sound and sounds perfect and lovely.

My C's song of the day actually comes from Karen's solo album - "Remember When Lovin' Took All Night". At first this was not one of my favorites. But when I did the interviews with the guys from Billy Joel's band last year on the KC solo album. Liberty DeVitto had mentioned this was his favorite track. Today I was playing Karen's album and got stuck on "Remember When Lovin'..." what a neat song and I just love Liberty's percussion work.

I am getting in on this thread a bit late but when I woke up this morning I was listening to Calling Occupants with headphones as not to wake my roomate and I was blown away by not only Karens voice but also the phenomenal orchestration they employed for this recording. I love the decending and overlapping overdubs by karen and Richard at the end. I know on some compilations it is left out, does anyone know why? this is my song of the day. I hope we make contact soon, we could use some help down here. We can trade Carpenters music in exchange for alternative energy technology. Jim

My song of the day is "All because of You." I love Karen's lower range and a more "stripped down" arrangement on a song. It just highlights Karen's talent even more.

I thought you might be interested in this: Karen Carpenter (one of the best female Singers ever) is slipping out of 10th place into 11th. Since this is a World Diva Site I think needs a vote from us. With that 3 octive voice, how can we let her down? Please Vote www.divasthesite.com/Singing_Divas/Singing_Divas.htm"That Voice" What do you think? Thanks Rich of Florida Rolling Eyes [/b]

One thing to remember about voting on the Divas site is that you can only vote once. If you vote more than once they start taking votes away from your diva. So if you've already voted for Karen don't vote again or she will continue to slip downwards. My song of the day is "He Came Here For Me". This song came to my mind last night as I was falling asleep. I just love this song. Karen really puts her heart and soul into this one.

My song of the day is one of the early 1967(?) Karen Carpenter solo songs "You'll LOve Me". I just love this magnificent early tune.

My song of the day is Rain Days and Modays as I await the arrival of Wilma. Which oddly enough is forecast to begin effecting Ft. Lauderdale Monday. So it will deffinetly be one heck of a rainy day for sure. I just hope the 100mph winds they are predicting will spare us. Jim

Mom and I had a long conversation last night about selling the house now that dad has passed away. So we are in the process of deciding when she will move back to Iowa and new housing. So I woke up this morning with Where Do I Go From Here on my mind. Jim

I have two songs of the day.
"Heartache Tonight" in which Karen sang a few parts on along with Olivia Newton-John, Tina Turner, Toni Tenille and Peaches (of Peaches and Herb). Great song, great rythm. I wish Karen would have recorded more of the Eagles' songs as "Desperado" I felt was outstanding on the album "Horizon". I could just imagine Karen singing "Lyin' Eyes" or "I Can't Tell You Why".
"Making Love In The Afternoon" this is my favorite from Karen's solo album. I love the power pop guitar chords and the overall fun feel to the song. The addition of Peter Cetera's vocal give the song that extra edge.
