Just a brief overview, the pop discs I've made include many songs I sent to the Carpenters which they may have put into the "Gold Box" for future references. I have orchestrated them in recent years, and sung them myself, wishing on so many of them, Karen had lived long enough to issue them herself. Each disc has a mix of the ones they received, like "Fly" "Free Of You" "Everything To Me" "Oh, That I Could" "So Much In Love" and also has more recent songs I've written, including "What The Ocean Knows" "I Want To Stay" and many more. I am planning on remastering these C.D.'s to include my new, upbeat fun version of "Love Me For What I Am" where I try NOT to sound like Karen, and still think I do, but with an Al Jarreau sort of light hip hop twist. If the fans were interested, I would go further, and include the original demo of "Love Me For What I Am" with original lyrics as I sent it to Richard and Karen years ago. If the fans demanded MORE, I would love to go back in the studio and record many more songs of that era, including "Box Office Movie King" which was to be their next release of mine. When you hear it, you will see why she was going to record it. I am sure it would have been a big hit for her. It was about a woman who knew the REAL MAN who was a movie star that women just LOVED on the screen. She says:" You are the one woman run to see in pictures. You are the one has 'em crying in the aisles, Box-Office Movie King, I would give anything, if you really were the way you seem....One time, I was the girl you came home to at night in real life, while millions of others were wishing to take my place, Box Office Movie King, I would give anything, if the truth could finally be told, your heart is cold, I know it." I would love to hear the original demo of "Love Me For What I Am" - this I am most interested in.
I would also love to hear "Box Office Movie King". I do remember seeing this title somewhere else. I think it was in the Carpenters Buried Treasures list. This is a list of songs Carpenters recorded but never released.

Neat lyrics, Palma. You've touched upon something I figured out many years ago, which is why is it that show-biz marriages and relationships go south as quickly as they do. I think that what happens is that they marry "characters", and they both play those characters until they burn out.

Thanks for the chocolate, Rick. I like the ones with nuts, and the milk chocolate better than dark or gooey fillings. Hey, copey, you still there?

Hey Fans, there are interesting items in the mail that's awaiting your leader, RICK! I made copies of my contract with Karen, featuring her signature next to mine, and copies of my first two checks (very big, considering I was making about one half a cent per copy sold) and other goodies which I will let RICK reveal or NOT reveal to you, since he is your GURU. He gets to issue the goodies as he sees fit...or not...so be nice to him! Can we hear it for Rick at this time??What a great host he is. What a great inspiration, this website. Do I hear the applause??(Someone please, the icon.)

Thanks for the chocolate, Rick. I like the ones with nuts, and the milk chocolate better than dark or gooey fillings. Hey, copey, you still there? The chocolates are from our virtual guest Johnny Depp. HOLD EVERYTHING! YOU THINK YOU SAW "BOX OFFICE" ON THE LIST OF SONGS SHE RECORDED AND DIDN'T RELEASE????RICK? I am wrong Palma I went back and looked at the Buried Treasures list and "Box Office Moive King" is not on it. but for some reason I feel like I've seen that title somewhere.
