Home For The Holidays - 1 We've Only Just Begun - 1 Rainy Days And Mondays - 1 Of course Christmas music is very popular right now... although several stations do not play any Christmas music or maybe 50%. There are stations such as WDUV and several of the Live365 stations which are still playing your standard Carpenters songs... I'm still hearing "We've Only Just Begun" on a daily basis. I'm making a point of listening to these stations that do not play 100% Christmas music in order to keep this log somewhat accurate... although I am getting my fill of Christmas music from KOST FM and WVEA. |

The other night I was listening to Delilah when someone dedicated "Merry Christmas, Darling" to someone. I was happy I was going to finally have my first 'hear' this year of "MC,D", but then Delilah didn't like the dedication, so ... no Carpenters. : (

Stopped for my usual morning coffee this morning only went inside this time rather than the drive-thru.
While waiting in line, "Merry Christmas Darling" came over the speakers. I felt a sense of pride while standing there with all the people. It was almost like "that's Karen Carpenter singing; do you know how special she is to me?"...hehehe
Then even better, as I was leaving the store which is also a gas station and they play the speakers outside as well, it was such a WONDERFUL feeling walking to my car while hearing Karen's voice fill the sky. Truly a nice warm feeling as I look around at all the pretty snow too.

Now Pop Goes The 70's is playing "Keep On Truckin'" by Eddie Kendricks... this was a huge #1 hit in 1974-75... it's one of my ultimate favorites... Kendricks sang with the immortal Temptations. |
