I will check tomorrow and report on the address. I'm sure there will be an address or perhaps more likely a website. In the mean time, I'll also check for July 8 birthdays, and any other dates requested. And thanks for the NAMM info.- I'll probably have more questions as the year progresses.

Excellent... both Karen and Richard show up on this calendar - obviously whoever put this calendar together felt both are important enough to list. Very good.
Is this calendar a NAMM calendar?
NAMM is generally held at the Anaheim Convention Center - which is only about twelve miles away from where I live. Usually most of the local businesses (restaurants, hotels, and other retail) benefit greatly from this convention.
O.E.... if you don't mind can you look up my birthday - December 29th - I am curious also.

It's interesting how a calender which was almost to be thrown out has garnered so much attention from us. Just love it!

Now, isn't THAT the truth? Who would have thought? Yet, it's just this sort of thing that keeps our discussions going and allows more learning to occur. I love that about this forum - that there's not only Always Something There to Remind Me, but there's also just a lot of great fun stuff to learn about when we check in here..... Tim

The calendar is produced by SweeXXXXXer, a music instrument and pro audio company. (The NAMM convention was noted for last weekend, but the calendar is not produced by them.) The information on SweeXXXXXer is: SweeXXXXXer.com, (800) 222-4700, & 5501 U.S. Highway 30 W., Fort Wayne, In., 46818. There are 606 birthdays noted (yep, I counted them) and July 8th is the birthday of Beck (90's alternative rock star, I just found out.) I will check the birthdays of Nov. 9 and Dec. 29 tomorrow. I am glad there is interest in this here. Even after I found the calendar I wasn't originally going to mention it on the forum, thinking it was probably too trivial or corny to generate any interest- but I guess this shows that if there is ever any doubt- post it!

November 9 is the birthdate of Tom Fogerty, guitarist with "C.C.R". Dec. 29 is the birthdate of Rick Danko, Candian singer/musician associated with "The Band".

Thanks for looking up my birthday to see if there were any artists listed for that day, O.E. !
I went to the SweeXXXXXer web page, but I still haven't figured out how to order a calendar from there. I didn't really want to use the phone number. I guess I'll have to poke around on their site some more. ;-)

Hi O.E. thank you very much for looking up my birthday - December 29th. I have a few albums by the Band which Rick Danko was a member. I especially like their 1969 hit "Up On Cripple Creek". They also did a fine recording of "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" which was later covered by Joan Baez.
Also mentioned was Beck (same birthday as Tim). I have several discs by Beck. Most of his music is quite mellow and moody - although he's categorized as altenative rock.
Then there is Tom Forgerty (same birthday as Wisejester7) Creedence Clearwater Revival was one of my favorite groups of the early 70's. I love several of their hits most prominently "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" and "Who'll Stop The Rain".

I detect a RAIN theme ;-) November is a transitional month, weather wise. Rain, like all water types, is supposed to represent a rebirth.

WJ7, I was thinking about the fact that the calendar was found in the recycling trash, leading me to believe it was probably procured locally (perhaps picked up as a "throw-in" when buying something else) rather than ordered from SweeXXXXXer; I wonder if local guitar or music stores might have them available.

You might be right on that. A local store might have been giving them away as a good will gesture to their customers.

You may try their web site at www.sweeXXXXXer.com/ and click on the Contact Us link on the top of the page and send them an email assking about the calendar. They may be gracious enough to send you one.[/b] [/center]

That's a good idea, Rick. I might contact them about calendar information and see if I can purchase one.

What a fun thing O.E.!>>><<< Interesting indeed! >>>>><< Unusual it seems...hope others will be able to find another such calendar. >>>>>><<<<<<<>>>>>>><<<<<<<>>>>>><<<< ???AS FAR AS there's always something to RemiND us....Yesterday, on the tv program "Entertainment Tonight" I happened to hear that Olivia Newton John's daughter is suffering from anorexia. I was in the kitchen and just kinda listening, and then I poked my head around the corner and took a glance of what was being said and shown... >>><<<< it showed a pic of Olivia and what she had to say and a pic of her daughter....then >>>><<< it was mentioned that Karen C. had been Olivia's best friend and that Karen had died from that anorexia.s Don't know if a pic of Karen was shown or not...but perhaps... I'm not particularly fond of the fact that so many times Karen seems to be known only for that awful disease...even tho that fact no doubt opened to door to knowledge and help for many... it's just Karen Was and Is So Much More....!!! Luckily more and more folks are either discovering for the first time, or renewing their great love for Karen and Richard.
