You're right Beth... The Carpenters are a great medecine. I had powerful crises of Multiples Sclerosis in '95-'96-'97. I'm feeling good these years. I had a lot of painful loves stories and also got throught them. My adoration for the Carpenters as certainly played a big role in my..., let's says *luck*. I love you Karen... Roland C.

I have to agree as well I find that the Carpenters music soothing and uplifting. Karen sings the music in a manner that envokes emotions that no other artist can and no matter how bad my day goes it is somehow brightened by those two kids from Downey Califoria. Indeed thank you for the music Karen and Richard you are wonderful people.

I play Carpenter music when I'm happy for sure but especially when I'm down. It's the ONE thing that I can always count on to pick me up. Hearing Karen's voice just makes everything go away, at least temporarily but many times her voice is a remedy to my situation too. ;D

At work, I usually have a CD or 2 of the Carpenters. When I need a break and about to lose it, I grab a diet Pepsi, slip on the head phones and listen to a few songs. After a little while, I can go back and face work again! In headphones, Karen's voice is even more forceful and effective. I don't know what it is, but I prefer to listen to the Carpenters in headphones. That doesn't stop me from playing them in the car, or on the computer, or while working around the house....

Oh yeah, The Carpenters can really make me feel calmer if I am feeling upset or anxious. Their music just takes me away to another place. That voice!! I will always say that HER voice was so soothing, so calming, so powerful, so rangey, very pleasing to hear. What more could I say about her voice? I don't know. And his arrangements are marvelous. Lots of nights I will lay in bed, with my headphones on listening and replaying a song to hear the nuances of her voice, or listen closely to a background vocal line, one not normally heard(a whole nother post)...
Another artist that can calm me is SANDI PATTY. So 2 fantastic voiced vocalists have such a gift...Sandi has about a 3 octave vocal range, and Karen has a 4 octave range. But I always wonder if Karen could hit a High C like Sandi could. Sandi can sing deep, but I don't think as deep as Karen...anyhow.
My thoughts, Cameron
