The Carpenters' "Gold: 35th Anniversary Edition" is the BMG featured selection of the month. This should generate some big sales for the disc and create a bit of media for our duo. Following is BMG's write up: Beloved by everyone from young lovers (We've Only Just Begun) to "American Idol" champ Ruben Studdard (Superstar), the Carpenters are a true American music institution. In celebration of Karen and Richard's 35th anniversary as a group, the double-disc, 40-track "Gold" collection brings together their most timeless songs, complete with detailed liner notes and remastered sound. * Features all their classic Top Ten hits, including (They Long To Be) Close To You, Rainy Days And Mondays, Yesterday Once More, I Won't Last A Day Without You, There's A Kind of Hush (All Over The World) and more. * Includes three tracks never before released in the U.S.: Leave Yesterday Behind, a cover of The Rainbow Connection and a demo version of California Dreamin'.

I do not buy greatest hits compilations because I own all the albums. I am going to get the SACD/DVD audio version of his next collection that is due out in the fall (I believe). The Carpenters are going to sound so good in this new format I can't wait. Don't mean to take anything away from Gold here it is a fine collection and worth getting from the songs I have heard from it. I don't know if BMG is its own record company (I know it has a music club) but it is a susidary of RCA/Victor

That`s good news, let`s hope it will boost the sales!
Isn`t BMG a german record company? Think it stands for Bertelsmann Music Group.
