;D I know I'm years behind as far as owning all the C's music ...but anyway, I have the 25th anniv. cd Interpretations...and of course it's super. Sometimes, I skip to the songs that are like new to me.. because, I haven't heard them until now.
The I Believe You song is really what I call a breezy song as far as the background music goes.
Somewhere not long ago on the forum here..something was said about how Rich. and K. were looked on as goodie two shoes...that clean image thing that always pressured them...
Someone said that one or 2 songs were recorded, but weren't released at the time, because the lyrics were too sexy and folks didn't won't to see Karen as wild or sexy ...because that's what made them unique with the soft harmonies.
And, then I Believe You is recorded and I know someone else sang it back then or in the 80's. That is really such a great song for Karen. It has that soft sound and yet definitely some sexy lyrics...."I believe you when u say that when we make love that it's like the first time we made love....(and then)...we made love and every act of love"
I don't know if that song's on her solo album, but it seems like if it wasn't then it should have been.
When she sings those words....I love it because....it sounds like "hey, this is great because what a wonderful thing it is"
and that pic. you had Rick...not long ago on your post board..where Karen has her head back and the long hair well, it gives me a good feeling because that's a joyful pose. I hope that at the time she posed for that ..that she was happy.
I don't mean for that to sound a little too much as far as sexy things go...but I know you get what I mean.
I think there were too many dark days for her during her life, and I like to see that smile of hers.
The Trying to get the Feeling song is of course terrific ....though it seems when I hear it that the background music drowns her singing out a little too much. It is quite a song though, with the strong piano and vocals booms out.
ok...again ...no one wants to read all that...but I just wanted to air out what I thought.
!!!! ;D
