First of all,I hope that I am posting this to the right place. I have read that the song "Eve" from the 1969 record, "Offerings/Ticket to Ride", was inspired by an epsiode of the tv show "Night Gallery", that starred Carol Lynley. The actual television show that led to the song was "Journey to the Unknown". Made in England, it ran on ABC from Sept. 1968 to Jan. 1969. It had an "Eve" epsiode; starring Carol Lynley as a mannikin that came to life. "Night Gallery" ran on NBC from Dec. 1970 to Augest 1973. It had an epsiode with Carol Lynley and a monster that aired in 1972. Just a bit of trivia for those who are interested. Benn ;D

Thank you Benn, this is some very interesting trivia. I always enjoy the story behind the song. "Eve" is such a great wonderful dark number.

This is my Carpenters all time favorite song!! There's more information at IMBD.com Click the site: Internet Movie Database IMBD Then write: Carol Linley Then search the #37 in: Notable TV Guest Appearances You will find details about that chapter named EVE from the TV serie "Journey to the Unknown". There's one mistake: where it says 23 june 1969 must says 23 june 1968. I wonder if the TV movie has some music Richard used for his inspiration.......

I think Richard only got the idea of the title from the song from that show. I don't think the show had any music that inspired him, anyway I've never read anything to lead me to believe so. ;D

"Eve" is a definite standout from "Ticket to Ride." When I was younger, I only associated it with Adam and Eve and never understood the connection. (LOL) A very dark song that Karen delivered convincingly..at the age of 19!
