Which Carpenters songs do you play a few times when you listen to.
Whenever I play Goodbye To Love I am so astounded by it, that I have to play it a second and third time. with each play I am more and more amazed at how good this song is.

There are so many, but the ones that usually get repeat plays are; "Goodbye To Love", "Rainy Days And Mondays", "Superstar", "Road Ode", "A Song For You", " Desperado", "Love Me For What I Am", "Solitaire", "Only Yesterday", "Boat To Sail" and "Two Sides".

;Dhi ThomB...good topic...Only Yesterday, Rainy days and Mon., Mr. Guder and Masquerade.. Karen surely sings a song in such a way that it's like you hear it for the first time...like it's fresh and new...you may go for a while and not listen to her and then when you do it's just timeless.

Hi All, I usually categorize Karen's vocals-songs into different categories all the time. Ballads...Blues...Perky...Depressing...hymn-like quality...the Hits...Standards...Outtakes...Country etc.
I still am amazed at what a singer she was. I always say it and always will...what a gift she had. Could you imagine Karen singing ALL BY MYSELF. That is a powerful song with a wide range, and I am sure that Karen could have done a superb job with that song...same with WITHOUT YOU.
My thoughts, Cameron

Which song would depend on which CD. For example: 1) Lovelines- You're the One and Where do I go from Here 2) Kind of Hush- I Need to be in Love and One More Time 3) Carpenters- (A Place to) Hideaway and One Love, plus the Rainy Days and Superstar 4) Made in America- Stregnth of a Woman 5) Passage- I Just fall in Love Again 6) Horizon- Desperado and Solitaire 7) Now and Then- I Can't Make Music 8) Voice of the Heart- Now 9) Close to You- Maybe it You and Baby It's You 10) Song for You- A song for you and Road Ode 11) As Time Goes By- Rainbow Connection and Leave Yesterday Behind
