Horizon. This was the album that really solidified my love for K&R. Songs like "Solitaire" and "Desperado" display Karen's intensity and growth as a singer. Songs like "Only Yesterday" and "Happy" are some of Richard's finest musical arrangements. Every song on this album is a true gem. Easily the strongest of the Carpenters albums from the very beginning to the very end you are captivated all the way through. This is an album where you don't really skip over any songs.

I throw my vote for "Horizon!" Karen's lower register is awesome and it shines on "Horizon." "Solitaire," "Only Yesterday" and "(Caught between) Goodbye and I love you" are great examples.

From Carpenters to Horizon, I like them all for different reasons. I don’t think the production or general sound was ever matched before or after Horizon. I was disappointed with that. Horizon’s a gem, for sure. Their overall sound was much clearer and grander after Richard took over production. Also, have a soft spot in my heart for A Song for You LP and the song itself. After all, almost half the songs on that album were hits! And, I love Road Ode and Crystal Lullaby as well. That was a very diverse album. I'm still impressed at how many hit singles the album produced.

I love all the ones that I own and know about. Close to you and the Reflections or Sweet Sweet Smile cd's are really great, but I love the Live in Japan video and cd. I can't just pick one...
Horizon is truly great too. I love Only Yesterday and Caught Between Goodbye and I Love You.
