Hi All, I had heard that Traci sang at the C's Performing Centre. At a Richard concert and that she moved a lot of people. People were talking of how she wanted to be a singer, and her musical idol was none other than Karen. That her voice was reminiscent of Karen, very strong and deep for a young girl...I think now she must be about 13 or 14...but it would be neat to see what happens in her career...

I happen to be skimming the Ray Coleman book and found that Tatum is Agnes Carpenter or her mother's maiden name. I didn't connect that until today.
Let's hope there is some of the musical genes in Richard's children. What great music we could all be enjoying in the future!

Some years ago I was a member of the British Carpenters fan club and Marilyn, who ran it, was often in contact with Evelyn Wallace. At one point she even went to dinner with Rich and the entire family including Evenlyn.
Evelyn commented that Traci Tatum was a true reminder of Karen, she had the same character, same type of personality and even Karens lively persona. It is great that she even has a good voice which is reminiscent of her aunts great voice.
Lets hope the future brings a new singing Carpenter!

yes, indeed! I do believe singing talent or artistic talents can be inherited.
