Hi All, Were there 2 versions of IF I HAD YOU. I know that Richard produced the one which appeared on the Lovelines album. Also, there was the one that Phil Ramone produced for the solo album. And Richard really changed the vocal arrangement...
Also, I was listening to the Singles 1969-1973 intro of Close to you...and it is slightly different than the Close To You full length on that album. Like very very slight. Only a true fan could figure that out.

I believe there is just one recording of "I I Had You", but two different mixes, one is the Richard mix from the "Lovelines" disc, the other and I feel better, mixed by Ramone on Karen's solo.
I'm not sure but I think the intro of "Close To You" from 69-73 is a rerecording of the song.

Hi All,
Same Recording of IIHY ...Richard Remixed All Karen's Solo Selections for Lovelines Set and Noticeably Shortened Lovelines in 1988/1989 Period ....!!
Sure There are Karen Solo Alternate Versions in the Vaults ....Perhaps Phil Ramone Could Add to Any Future Second Solo Sessions Release .....But Do Not Hold Your Breath ....It Will Be Hard Enough to Persuade A&M / Universal to Issue More Tracks ....Let Alone Any Solo Alternates .......
Perhaps Needs Richard to Complete Favourite Solo Outtake -Something's Missing to Get This Project Rolling ....? ....!!

I actually prefer the way Karen's solo tracks sound with Richard remixing them. I like "If I had you" much better with the extended vocals and ending cold with "if I had you back in my life..."
