Carpenters get a new Gold certification from RIAA

Good news for the Carpenters... on April 30, 2010 (yes, that's this year 2010) the Carpenters DVD/video collection entitled "Gold" was certified GOLD by the RIAA. This is their 41st certification from the RIAA.

Their previous certification was a Gold certification for the CD/album "Gold", it was certified by the RIAA on December 17, 2004. It had been 5 years and 4 months between certifications.

They have had 4 certifications from the RIAA since the year 2000. The other certifications are for the CD "Love Songs" and the DVD/video "Close To You: Remembering The Carpenters", both were certified Gold.

Hi BTS, yes this is great news. It's amazing that after all these years Carpenters still have the ability to earn a Gold certification from the RIAA.

I really want to watch it but I think the only way to get it is to order it off the internet. Alot of Carpenters stuff is on YouTube
