I posted this earlier on Carpenters Ave. Google Blog not knowing how to post here, so please forgive if this is seen twice. I've recently been going thru old calendars kept as diaries since 1967... I came across July 8, 1971...This was a Thursday 8pm when I went to see the Carpenters in concert here in Fresno, CA at Selland Arena. Mac Davis opened for Karen and Richard. He was great too. The concert was wonderful and I feel so fortunate that I got to see and hear them live. Unfortunately, I don't have any memorabilia or photos from that evening. What a beautiful voice and talent Karen was, and along with her brother Richard's arrangements and their singing together in harmony, just magical. My June 1972 wedding dress, and my bridesmaid's dress both were similar in style to what Karen was wearing during that time in the early 70's. What a loss to the world when she died. Thank heavens for the Internet and websites like this, record albums, CD's and YouTube. Thanks for reading...just wanted to share. I've never seen or been able to find a listing of Carpenters 1971 Tour Dates. Susan
