I heard about this maybe a month ago. That is great that the Hollywood Bowl is honoring Carpenters. What's even better is they are being honored on the same night along with Donna Summer. I love Donna Summer just as much as Carpenters... what an excellent evening this will be.

It was an excellent evening indeed. The magical moment for me was when the entire audience (17,000?) spontaneously started singing "Top of the World" along with the pre-recorded video tribute to the Carpenters. It caught me totally my surprise. That incredible moment alone made the cost of the concert worth it. It was also wonderful to hear Donna Summer sing "Super Star." I had no idea that her voice was so powerful. It was very different from Karen's rendition, but beautifully executed just the same.
