It seems we all can relate to some song or another that we find ourselves humming or we may not be in any mood particularly for music ..but our favorite duo surely sang and played songs that covered a wide variety of moods. There are days we start out rushed more than usual or anxious and so we then may think of the "HELP, I NEED somebody! and then we might need to "MAKE IT EASY ON YOURSELF" AND "NEED A PLACE TO HIDEAWAY" from the world. Today for me started out kinda with these songs in mind. Other times, we feel on "TOP OF THE WORLD". I think people really can put away their troubled thoughts a while at times and just listen to a familiar voice a calming voice such as Karen's and it's really as if she is connecting with us ..this was and still is her gift to us. Happy or sad...her blended vocals touch us. A truly timeless voice. It's much like we can still laugh at the hi-jinks of I Love Lucy, or Andy Griffith, or Charlie Chaplin...music like laughter is universal . ;D

What a lovely thought Smoothie, thank you for the sentiment.
I'd say the song which best fit my mood today was "Boat to Sail". This was a nice relaxing laid back day for me. I went and visited a freind, we played Uno. It was a nice day, the weather was great, around 75 degrees. "Boat To Sail" and "Sailing On The Tide" both fit my mood today. Tomorrow will be a different story, I'll probably be singing "Help".

:)Glad it was a good day for you. Do you sail ? I think I would be a little afraid of the water at first if I got the chance to be on a real sail boat. Although, I've been on fishing trips to East Tx. when I was young with my folks. It was kind of swampy areas and I didn't care for it much mainly cuz I knew there were water snakes around. Later on at a camp a couple of times a friend of mine had a boat and all of us counselors had the day off away from kids. Some water ski-ed and I was given the chance, but was too scared. I do like to just swim in a regular pool though, but haven't in yr. Anyway, today was kind of hum drum..but could have been worse. It was windy and very warm and I did walk around the block for an outing. The songs "All of My Love" came to mind and "sometimes". best wishes..

:)and even though it was a beautiful day..the falling leaves brings the song "Crescent Noon" because it conveys a sadness and realization of how time slips by and the change of seasons is a gift from the heavens.

The change of seasons is truly a gift of beauty. In Southern California we don't really see much in the way of the change of seasons. We have sunny weather almost year round. But I can picture the beautiful seasons in my mind and especially when I hear songs like "Crescent Noon", the song conjurs many wonderful mental picutres. It's one of my favorites and Karen's voice is almost eerie in it's very deep soulfulness.

Hi All, Well I was on the Greyhound Bus from Swift Current heading to Regina and I was listening to my cd player on the bus. The song that got me going was TOP OF THE WORLD...because it was a beautiful sunny warm day...and I was remembering me and my siblings and Mom dancing and singing to this song at my Auntie's wedding in August 2003...that was a fun happy memory.
I really adore Crescent Noon...what an image evoking song...full of different ranges of emotions, layers of sadness and pain...it's kind of a weird song but wonderful...if that makes any sense at all!!

and to quote from the song .. Cam," isn't it nice to talk about the special way that you smile whenever I'm around" .I'm glad you were able to go and get away from the usual stuff of life...you probably have mentioned it, but where is Swift Current? It is nice to have some fond memories of a special event and relate them to a song. I recall in the 70's sometime, a friend of mine had "For All We Know" sung at her wedding, and since I was already a real fan of our Carps. by then, and my friend was THE Coolest girl i ever knew and role model of mine, well, I think of that happy day for her when I hear that.
