Hi All, The Heartbeat Cafe will feature a tribute to the Carpenters this Sunday evening November 22. DJ Pat Marino always puts on a good show and is a really pleasant host. I think you'll enjoy it. Pat has been a big fan of the Carpenters and their music since he was a child and is most anxious to share songs from this exciting new CD with his listening audience across Ireland and on the World Wide Web. Thanks for sharing this. I agree with Rick that it's great to see the ongoing support and respect for Carpenters and their music. It's not uncommon to see esp. Karen featured on sensational programs here such as Entertainment Tonight, but it's usually to relate her to an anorexia story and doesn't have much to do with their incredible musical library or achievements.

Yes, it's too bad that the U.S. is so much into sensationalism. Karen's anorexia related death is only part of the story... yet U.S. media seems to want to focus only on that... I'd prefer a focus on her wonderful and fantastic natural gifts as a singer and drummer. Let's hope that U.S. television will produce a TV special to celebrate Carpenters' 40th anniversary.
