This is super- thanks for this great gift! I enjoyed the first part so much that I am going to save some of the delight and listen to segments at various times over the next week.

Wonderful! One thing postpones me from logging on to trudge through e-mail: there's always so much! After deleting all the spam and unnecessary e-mails, it still leaves a lot of information to digest, catalogue, edit & file to save for ongoing projects or later reference. It's just so tedious sometimes. However, one click on your link, Rick, had me riveted in my seat! Immediately, all errands and plans on a special day off work dropped out of my awareness like ballast, allowing it to float off. Halfway through, four things became apparent: 1) This was turning out to be a long stream, 2) My mind, and especially feelings, had been teleported to memories of so many things long ago. (Now I realize my screensaver was scrolling through my photos, many capturing moments in the 70's & 80's when the Carpenter's music was fresh and full in the air.) 3) The music beamed me, not just to the past, but energized by Karen's voice, Richard's orchestrated execution, and Richard's & other's arrangements, to a place where the Spirit of Christmas lives eternally, so purely channelled by Karen and Richard. 4) While noting the time passing and the distance travelled in my chair, I said to myself: SCREW IT! And I sat there enraptured, listening to the whole thing. Maybe that wouldn't have happened if the interview wasn't new to my ears, or if it hadn't been so long since listening to these Carpenter's Christmas songs back to back. All this is not just to say thank you, but to illustrate that I really mean: Thank You! Thank you for a bit of the past that brings a real sense of Christmas present, which also renews Hope for taking it step by step into the future. Thank you again, and to all on Carpenters Avenue: KC

Thank You so much Rick for such a wonderful gift!!! I'm blown away completely by it! There was only one Karen and only one Richard which made up the Carpenters...and their wonderful choir in the background, arrangement and the Supreme Karen is just fabulous!! I love the interviews and the songs!

Very nice, Rick. I got that interview CD from Ebay a couple years ago and listened to it right away. It is a great one; to hear Karen's voice both singing and speaking is such a joy. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND MAY ALL YOUR NEW YEAR'S WISHES COME TRUE!!! Beaner (Mary Ann)

Thank you Rick for explaining about the arrangements. It puzzled me when Karen kept referring to Peter and Billy regarding the arrangements, but I caught on that at least Richard didn't do all of them. Interesting to know he did very few of them. But it makes sense now because they seem to be a little different flavor, especially apparent in Santa Claus is Comin' to Town. One other thing, too. A few hours after listening to the interview & songs it hit me that Karen had another major characteristic/talent/trait that's so natural I never consciously realized it before: She was an excellent public speaker! She came up with unique descriptions for each song, not repetitive. She picked out just the right stories and encapsulated them into complete, yet very brief descriptions. Her public speaking skills were above average, like her singing and playing drums. Thanks again and Merry Christmas KC
