Unlike pic #4, this pic makes me think of two songs at once... First, it makes me think of *Sing* because of the single's picture sleeve and second, it makes me think of *We've Only Just Begun* 'cause I have a music sheet that has that pic on the cover. Funny Roland but before I saw your reply and found out this was the sleeve for Sing I imediately thought of the Now and Then record when I saw this picture maybe it was Karens hairstyle or the way K&R looked. My choice of song is going to be Yesterday Once More because I cannot think of N&T without thinking of YOM (the song not you Tim lol...just kidding Tim).

I really like this light-hearted photo...I read that Karen was somewhat of a tom-boy growing up and liked to play baseball (right?)... and so this looks like she and R. are having fun ....I think of the song SATURDAY which is a carefree song... But it also made me think of in the movie w/ Cynthia Gibb...there's the scene near the first of the show, and R. and K. are running...actually I think she's been jogging and anyway, she falls on the ground playfully and he comes up and tickles her I think ... ..........

Aw, shucks there, Enigma. I didn't know.. Yeah, I'm just kidding, too. I think of the Now and Then album as well - I think it's Karen's Hair style that makes me think of it - I'm going with Enigma's choice, Yesterday Once More! Tim

Once again as with all the pictures in this game I just love Karen's do. She had some of the best hairstyles of anyone in California. Understated but truly an excellent style which accents her face perfectly. This do is without exception one of her best.
I myself think of "Sing" for two reasons. It's the picture sleeve for the single "Sing" and it's a good wholesomely happy picture.

I have to agree with the rest of you. When I saw the photo, I thought of "Sing." I also think of the old song, "Sweet and Innocent." Not one of the Carpenters's songs, but a song that describes the picture.

This particular picture of Carpenters is somewhat special to me. As this is the picture that finally got me hooked.
My first real experience with Carpenters was in mid 1971 when I heard the "Close To You" album. After that late 1971 a friend of mine played "Bless The Beasts And Children" (the b-side of "Superstar" at that point) - that's when I decided I really like Carpenters music. In late 1972 I bought the album "A Song for You". At this point I really hadn't seen many pictures of Karen (or Richard). Just the album cover of "Close To You", the inside picture of "A Song For You" and a dark picture in a scholastic magazine. But in early 1973 I saw this picture of Karen and Richard in the park and I just stared at Karen and my thought was "wow" she is one very beautiful lady. I just fell in love with KC right then and there. from that point on I was a solid Carpenters fan. I ended up buying every record and 8-track I could get my hands on.

This one makes me think of Sing because it's the picture sleeve for the single. But I also think of Top of the World because the Carpenters look like they were on top of the world.
