Hi Wisejester7. Interesting guess (and I love the song) but no it isn't "Sky High".
Again here are the clues:
Artist: BIG SHOULDERS
Song: LARGELY UNEXPECTED
Happy guessing...

Living in Chicago, I know it is often called "the city with big shoulders" so I might venture a guess that the group is "Chicago", but I don't know enough about them to speculate on a song.

...and I thought Chicago was just known as the "Windy City"! I had an inkling that the song had something to do with "Big Surprise."
Now that we have some strong indication that the artist is the group Chicago (originally named The Big Thing and then The Chicago Transit Authority), then the song would have to be "Baby What a Big Surprise", written by band member/bassist/vocalist Peter Cetera, who wrote "Making Love in the Afternoon" and performed the backup vocals for it on Karen's solo album.

YES,my guess would also have been Chicago because I did hear about the other nickname when I did a paper a few years ago! I also was gonna say Baby what a Big Surprise(My FAVOITE 70s Chicago Song)! The Carpenters should have also did a version of this song!

Yes, yes and yes on all accounts.
Good job O.E. and Dreams...
