Here's the newest installment of Twisted Logic. This one is a Three Star difficulty level. It's not as hard as the last one - but it's still tough enough.
A quick reminder: you want to quess the artist's name and song. The song is not recorded by Carpenters.
After you guess the artist and song you will want to figure out the song's connection to Carpenters/Karen/Richard.
This one has (as far as I can tell) one connection.
Here are the clues:
Artist: THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY
Song: FEMININE

Any guesses here for TW7? We sure had fun with TW6 and Leo Sayer.

Well, the Monkees had a song titled 'She', but I don't think that's the feminine you're looking for here.

Hi Wisejester - nope not the Monkees. Good try though.
As it stands the clue for the artist is: THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY and the song clue is FEMININE.
Keep on trying.

Hi Tim... Good guess, but it is not "Bad Girls". The title of this song is feminine, just as the title of the Carpenters' song "Strength Of A Woman" is feminine.
Once again the song clue is: FEMININE.
And the Carpenters connection is a big one.

Hi Rick, Is the song "She Works Hard for the Money", "The Woman in Me", "A Girl Like You", "Woman" or "This Girl's Back in Town"? Hmmm... many roads to choose!

Hi Rick, Is the song "She Works Hard for the Money", "The Woman in Me", "A Girl Like You" or "Woman" or "This Girl's Back in Town"? Hi GoodOldDreams... I'll give you one extra hint.
The song was a single and it did make the charts, but it was not a top ten hit.

"This Girl's Back in Town" was written by Paul Jabara and D. Esty. It's a stretch here —does it have something to do with songwriter Paul Jabara, who also co-wrote (with Jay Asher) "Something's Missing (in My Life)", which both Donna and Karen had recorded, the latter of which has not been officially released by Richard to the general public?

Another good guess Dreams... but "This Girl's Back In Town" is not the song in question.
The "FEMININE" song in this game has a more direct connection to Carpenters. It was also a single which made the top 40, but not the top 10.
You are on the right track as Donna Summer is the artist.
btw Dreams... I thought I knew all of Donna's songs but I'm not familiar with "This Girl's Back in Town", which album is it from?

How about 'Need a Man Blues' for the song?

How about 'Need a Man Blues' for the song? Nope not "Need-A-Man Blues".
Here's one more clue which should clinch it. The song was a top 40 hit (but not top ten) in 1983 for Donna Summer. The connection to Carpenters is a pretty big one.
Thanks GoodOldDreams for the infor about the Paul Jabara written tune.

Dr. Johnny P LoveTrain, WOO-WHOO-CHOO-CHOO! I think you are on the right "track" with "The Woman in Me"! How could I have forgotten about this song? It's one of my favorites along with "Love is in Control", "Mystery of Love", "State of Independence" and Donna's poignant rendition of "Lush Life" on this self-titled album. "The Woman in Me" was co-written by John Bettis and M. Clark. I wrote about this when John Bettis was inducted into our "Carpenters Online Hall of Fame" earlier this year...DUH! Of course, John bettis is no stranger to any of us on this site...

Yes, Johnny you are right! The song is "The Woman In Me".
GoodOldDreams... you've got the connection correct. The song was c0-written by famed Carpenters lyricist John Bettis.
This game was solved by three people.
Dave guessed that the artist was Donna Summer.
Johnny figured out the song was "The Woman In Me"
And GoodOldDreams made the Johnn Bettis connection.
