"This Girl's Back in Town" was written by Paul Jabara and D. Esty. It's a stretch here —does it have something to do with songwriter Paul Jabara, who also co-wrote (with Jay Asher) "Something's Missing (in My Life)", which both Donna and Karen had recorded, the latter of which has not been officially released by Richard to the general public?

Is it "The Woman In Me"? It peaked at #33 in 1983 Dr Johnny P LoveTrain
Dr. Johnny P LoveTrain,
WOO-WHOO-CHOO-CHOO! I think you are on the right "track" with "The Woman in Me"! How could I have forgotten about this song? It's one of my favorites along with "Love is in Control", "Mystery of Love", "State of Independence" and Donna's poignant rendition of "Lush Life" on this self-titled album.
"The Woman in Me" was co-written by John Bettis and M. Clark. I wrote about this when John Bettis was inducted into our "Carpenters Online Hall of Fame" earlier this year...DUH! Of course, John bettis is no stranger to any of us on this site...
