4-Stars
I really do like this song. It's hard for me to say which I like better the Beatles' or Carpenters' recording. So, I will just say I like them evenly.
I really like the organ used in this song. The song really rocks. And Karen's performance of this Beatles classic is great. She sings with so much energy and life. I just love it.

4 stars Although Beatles' version is also very good. I think Carpenters' version is better.

I was mistaken earlier on the song "Love is Surrender". This is the song that they start abruptly on and I always liked that. You had to be attentive to begin the same time as Karen.

;DWell, Rick you and I had the same word to describe this one...it ROCKS!!!..I gave it 5 stars...i also love the Beatles version and can't seem to choose one as better than the other. I don't seem to hear a lot of discussion about Help!...and it doesn't seem to show up on many of the recordings in general. On the Live in Japan video..Karen really has a blast with the drums !! She did so like those drums! They really chose a great song. The organ part is superb too. I think it would be hard to play and sing at the same time, but Karen got it down to a tee. ;D

I gave this one a 4.
I love Karen's voice in this song. It is stronger than normal and has heart to it. There is angst and longing and real passion in Karen's delivery. I didn't give it 5 stars because it sounds a little dated, as do most Beatles' songs, and the music as the end of the song is too much, too busy, too noisy, for my taste.

I don't listen to this song often - I'm not particularly fond of the song (performed by any artist) or this arrangement. I wonder how the Carpenters career would have been shaped differently if "Help" had been released as their second single, as was planned before Herb Alpert suggested "Close To You"? 2 Stars. L
