Yes, DAve - he sure does. Do we think that Ned Nickerson is a made-up name? I mean....wasn't Nancy Drew's boyfriend named Ned Nickerson? OR was it TED Nickerson - I'm thinking it was Ned.....yes, I must admit - I was a Nancy Drew fan when I was in grade school....I love a good mystery. Now I've grown into Dean Koontz.....

Yeah.I have to leave at 10.I already told my friend that I may be late but I don't want the man that runs that place to fuss me out like he did when I joined here.He didn't actually 'fuss' me out but he started telling me lies about Karen and Richard. He is a VERY odd man.

Dave is consistently good tonic for this old boy....he always finds the best and the funny stuff....and Katt, I have to agree, he is definitely a character...one of the finest kind... Rick, I guess it's not Albert and MOss.....eh? Still thinking.....

For 2 months he kept on saying that Karen wasn't interested in men.But I think he stopped after he was looking on the Entertainment Tonight website for info on Chloe Lattanzi,Olivia Newton-John's daughter,'s anorexia and Karen's marriage to Tom Burris was mentioned and since then he hasn't said anything else about Karen. He was looking for an article for the newsletter thing over at that place.

Now, that's some talented imagination! I don't think I could come up with a combination like Eddie Albert and Randy Moss. (I'm a Green Acres fan but not a Patriots fan.)

This gent really needs to do some research, and buy some of the books that are readily available out there. There was Terry and "Softly" as well, and who knows who from her high-school days?

A GREAT BIG WELCOME TO OUR FIRST SET OF SPECIAL GUESTS TO NIGHT! balloons It's Bill Skiles and Pete Henderson... the famed comedy duo Skiles and Henderson who was Carpenters opening act on tour for five years. They've been all around the world twice with the Carpenters. Bill Skiles speaking: Hi all, thanks for having us here at the Basement Party... Gee Rick, you have an awesome basement.Rick speaking: Well Bill you know what they say... the money's in the basement. Bill Skiles speaking: We toured with Karen and Richard for five years. They were both really great people. Karen was especially a treat to know. A true and genuine soul.Pete Henderson: Yes, Karen was always very gracious to us. but she did get upset with me only once.Pete continues speaking: We had finished our evening show at the University of Notre Dame with the Carpenters and boarded their chartered plane, a twin engine turbojet USAir commercial airliner with room for about 40 or more passengers, complete with a flight attendant.
As usual, I sat in the last row by myself so I could read in peace and enjoy some rum laced hot chocolate.
We had about an hour in the air, and I was oblivious to what was going on with the rest of the troupe. It seemed to me that we were taking a lot longer to reach Chicago than we should have, but I ignored that. It gave me time for another drink.
It also seemed that we were flying a lot lower than normal, and I ignored that, too. Eventually we landed safely with no problem.
I was the last one off the plane and commented facetiously to Karen, who was getting ready to climb into her limo, "Another routine miracle," because that's what I always felt about flying. She gave me the only dirty look I ever got from her, and left for the hotel.
I found out later that we had lost an engine about halfway to our destination, and there was NOWHERE we could land except the airport in Chicago.
Ahh, clueless me . . . I was the only one unaware of the danger. (this explained the disdained "look" from Karen Carpenter.)Rick speaking: Wow, what a great story Pete... thanks for sharing.
