"He wears stuff like his Harley-Davidson collar to pay back for his lack of toughness."
Truth be told, I've always been a cat man. We have two black ones, Gary and Shirley

Hello, all-am new to this group & glad to see something like this online. I've been a fan of the Carpenters most of my life. I've become severely deaf in the past 5 yrs., but ironically/thankfully am able to still enjoy their music better than most others. I will be visiting cousins in L.A. early next month, and plan to visit the Carpenters Exhibit @ CSULB while there. Has anyone else been there? Very happy to be here among fellow fans----let's have a great night!!

Hi Trekker1 Yes, I have been there - to the Richard and Karen Carpenter Center for theperforming Arts. Have a kleenex with you - I had these huge tears in my eyes practically the whole time - it was overwhelming. You'll love it. For a small place, there is a lot to see. So glad that even through your adversity, you can still listen and enjoy Karen and Richard's outstanding music. Welcome.

Thanx, all---I try took @ the glass as being "half-full". There's always someone who has more adversity in life. Besides, being deaf does have certain advantages. Speech-reading is fun, especially when my girlfriend & I go out for dinner. Some of the conversations I "accidentally" pick up on are.......interesting ( lol ). I appreciate the heads-up regarding the exhibit. My cousin is married to a concert pianist & they used to live in Long Beach-they've been to the exhibit and told me I'd enjoy it. I always wanted to be a drummer, but never took it up. Seeing Karen's Ludwig will be a real treat!!! Hard to believe it's nearly 25 yrs. since she left us

Howdy, Smoothie! Nah, I've got my EVA suit on, you know(wink). But I am wearing a Kennedy Space Center long-sleeved T-shirt that says "Rocket Man" on it, and had a picture of a shuttle launching...only in my dreams!

This past mission, someone posted video from all of the wake-up songs on YouTube. One of them is a favorite of mine, Bob Seger's "Roll Me Away". Ned Nickerson has some really great Carpenters videos.
