;D ;D Rick, there is NEVER a need to apologize to me. I was just unsure what you meant, and wanted to ask that question. I certainly wasn't offended. This is all an amazing web of phone calls, letters, and perhaps, more. I'm sure we'll be dealing with this for a long, long time. Interestingly...if you GOOGLE Palma Pascale, now - she is "suddenly" linked to Martin Nievera. LOVE ME comes up, as it always did, but now in many of the websites, it also states "Also recorded by Martin Nievera." Truly, that is a good thing in more ways than one. The more people know he recorded the tune as well, the better we'll be in terms of the royalties. And, O.E., thank you. I do enjoy spreading the messages I do through my music, and with the fun rock, pop, and jazz venues where I play from time-to-time, well...what a release and blessing my music has been and continues to be for me. I turn fifty-five today. Oofah! But...I don't feel any different, and plan to keep on keepin on, in whatever way I'm being led to do. Right now, it's to help other artists as much as possible, just like Rick is doing with his Christian Music Website, and I know you've been a part of that, as well. I enjoy reading your writings, O.E. To everyone who wanders into Tim's Corner, I wish you health, happiness, and I wish you all the best from here in my corner, Tim ;D ;D

Two thousand posts! How could it be? I remember looking at the number of posts that Rick had when I first started writing on this forum - which was already into the thousands...and there were some others with many, many posts. I recall thinking "I won't get to a number like that, I'm sure - I just don't have that much to say." SURPRISE. Apparently, I do - so much so that Rick created a whole corner for me to chat with you, and here we are. I had planned on writing here sooner, but there just has not been time to do so. I've been very, very busy - just when I think I'm at the max, there is more. My wife has always told me that the more I had to do, the more I put on my plate to do. I guess it just happens that way. I don't mind. I love what I'm doing, and a lot of that is making music, and writing about music, or musicians, and talking with musicians, and talking with those who enjoy music. It's really a blessing for me. I want to thank you, each and every one, who has emailed me, and/or written such nice things about me here on the forum. I'm humbled by the kind words you've had. I truly do enjoy being here and adding my two cents once in a while. I'm happy to know that I might contribute to the conversations rather than take away from them. Typically I have a great time when I drop in. Thanks to everyone for your input and your insights. I've said it plenty of times - I always learn SOMETHING when I visit here. Very cool. So what's keeping me so busy? Well....I am doing a show with my former singing partner, Beth Spindler. Beth is an amazing jazz vocalist. She has an awesome voice - she has unbelievable control of the notes (doesn't sing flat or sharp), and she can do anything - she can scat like crazy, she sings wonderful jazz, but she can also sing Christian music, and pop, etc. Beth and I worked together for a good number of years, some 30 years ago. But we have not worked together for TWENTY YEARS....it's hard for me to believe, but that's a true statement. We're "coming back together" for a concert at my church, but it's not just a Christian music concert. Beth and I made a tape that is now 28 years old...geesch! That tape sold out after it was released, and many people ask me to this day if I can get them a copy of it. I can, but it's HARD to listen to, because you know, it was reduced from 16 tracks to 2 tracks, and it's on tape, not CD, so you know what those sound like after a few years. My brother's home flooded big-time a couple of years ago, and the master tape was in the basement where the flood happened. It was ruined. So, I have only my cassette to rely on, and we did at least get it transferred onto a CD for posterity - but certainly not to listen to! Oofah! It sounds terrible. But, we'll be doing some of the tunes from that, for old times sake - tunes like "What A Difference You've Made In My Life" and The Rose (HUGE-HUGE....we always had request after request to do this one)....and there's "I Won't Last A Day Without You" and the title song is "I Am A Promise." Plus, we're going to do some Jerome Kern tunes, and some Cole Porter stuff....we're going to introduce some Pascale songs, and my daughter Jenn and I are doing a lovely duet - Carol Bayer Sager's THE PRAYER. Nice, this. Beth's daughter Emily is singing, too - a new generation following in their parents footsteps. It should be a lot of fun, and it's coming up Sept 12th, so we're busy arranging medlys, learning the right keys, arranging songs for tracks, and more and more and more. Plus, I continue to write in the two blogs I write in as often as I can: martinis-musings.blogspot.com/ is one of them, and the other is ramblingsregardingrendo.blogspot.com/. It's so much fun, and I never tire of listening, and trying to hear more and more of the magic of the music. I just love it. I am in contact with Palma, Fred and Frank quite often. Palm is doing very well, and is finishing up her second contemporary Christian CD. The title is tentative at the mo, so I won't mention it as it very well could change. But I know of some of the tunes on it, and I am convinced it's going to be remarkable. What would make me think otherwise? I have a message for all of you, in fact, from Palma. She doesn't get on the computer to do more than check her e-mail quickly, as a general rule, but she has asked me to let you know that she HAS stopped by - sometimes late at night, and in particular, she has read through this thread. She knows she is often the topic of conversation here, and she told me she just could not believe we've continued to discuss her, her health, her music, and the well-wishes, and the prayers have NOT gone unnoticed, or unappreciated. They are most appreciated, and I'm convinced that one day, sooner than later, we'll be surprised and have a message here from her. She told me she misses everyone, and will be back....but to give you her love and her grattitude. So, there you have it. Gotta run for now. Thank you all for coming to Tim's Corner, and reading through these musings of mine. Also, thanks for taking the time to drop a line here, and in the main forum. Time to start working on my next 2,000 posts, eh? Until next time, I wish you all the best from here in my corner, Tim

Thanks Tim, for the update and for the news about the blogs; you are doing great work there. It is exciting to hear about the upcoming concert with Beth; the inclusion of "What A Difference You've Made In My Life" especially got my attention. If I recall correctly that was included in a Christian collection by B.J. Thomas back in the 70's- an album that positively influenced countless people. Thanks too for keeping us updated on Palma- the upcoming Christian CD is certainly something to look forward to. "Broken Cup" has helped save many a life and has influence that none of us can probably imagine, and I am sure the same great ministry awaits the new work as well. Keep writing here, Tim- when you hit 3,000 I'll take you to "Toast" for lunch. Ha! O.E.

Rick, your timing is outstanding.....after posting a bit, I have been off looking for my legal pad, where I'd jotted down a few things to write here. So, here we go.... Hey everybody - sorry I've been away from Tim's Corner for so long....seems like I have been involved with more and more and more as each day goes on. No complaining, because I'm enjoying each thing I'm doing - just that it takes a bit of time. Then, of course, there have been the computer viruses that I've been fighting. MAN! It just looked like it would take forever to get rid of this Trojan that we could get rid of one place, but it would then hide, and attach itself to three or four new places. And every time I scanned for viruses, it would show up in yet new places. Oofah! It was a mess. And, no sooner than I'd gotten completely rid of each piece, IT CAME BACK. I mean, my computer was "clean" for a whole day, and then, out of nowhere, the same virus returned. I had not even looked at the Internet, so I don't know where it came from, but rest assured, I'll be finding out. It was much easier to get rid of the second time, because of all the new software I'd downloaded to get rid of it, initially. And I already had plenty of spyware, and anti virus software installed and running - nevertheless, it happens. I hope it doesn't happen to any of you. Haven't we had some cool things going on in the main forum? I've enjoyed the recent games, and Ming's trip was awesome. Rick has provided us with some great new information, as always, and I know we all appreciate that. O.E., love your new avatar. It suits you perfectly. Rick, your photo is so fun! Timo and I have also shared information on MySpace, and it's fun to know that The Avenue is represented there (thanks, Rick) and Rick is there, Timo is there, and well...I just think it's a fun gathering place, and a good place to disseminate information to the masses. And I do mean the masses. Whew! Lots of people on MySpace. The last time I wrote here, I spoke about the upcoming show I was preparing for with my former duo partner, Beth. I also talked about how things continue to be busy in my life, and so it continues to be, as I mentioned. Not much changes in that regard. The show was a success; at least, I was pleased with how it went. Beth and I had an awfully good time rehearsing and choosing tunes. We opened with a couple of tunes regarding the Fall season (September in the Rain/Autumn Leaves), considering that the name of the show was "A September to Remember." So, we threw that in. We did several medleys, because that way we were able to get in more tunes, tho just in bits and pieces. We went into some of the tunes from our album from 1982, and did a song called Lover of the Children - a wonderful Latin contemporary Christian tune. From there, just like we used to do when we were working together, we went back to a club tune, and did a Cole Porter/Jerome Kern combo - At Long Last, Love, and I'm Old Fashioned. See, Beth and I were not only performing in clubs during those days, we also performed at the same church, where I was the music director, and she was one of the regular soloists. So, we'd sing in clubs most of the week, and in church on Sunday, then right back into the clubs. Just how it worked. Everyone got a kick out of us relaying that to them. Next up was my daughter Jennifer, and she and I did "The Prayer" as a duet. What a gorgeous tune. We did a "rainbow" medley, starting with Rainbow Connection, going into Over the Rainbow, and ending with Climb Every Mountain (follow every rainbow, till you find your dreams). Beth and I included Won't Last a Day Without You, some Antonio Carlos Jobim tunes (Wave/Meditation/One Note Samba), and several other medleys. Interestingly, at the last minute, we pulled out one of our old favorite fun club tunes, an obscure little ditty, and a funny one, written by Martin Mull, and recorded by he and Melissa Manchester called They Never Met. It's a funny tune about two people who just couldn't get it together, and....hence, they never met. It went over quite well. I'm happy it's over, and glad to have been able to do it. I am doing an intense amount of research, these days, and I have learned a lot from having done so. When I think of the things I've learned, and mostly due to the wonderful convenience of the Internet technology we enjoy today (when we don't have a virus, that is) Wow! I mean...I realize that someone had to put this all together in the first place, and put it on line for me to be able to just "call up" and look at. Nevertheless, the absolute power of the Internet to look and look (and look) at the same thing in so many various ways, instantly! Well, it just blows me away. As you know, before the Internet, communication itself was much slower, and certainly finding the 6 inches of data I've printed off would have meant literally months at the local library doing research, yes? But I'm getting where I need to be and my information is coming together - I didn't realize I actually enjoyed research nearly as much as I actually do! Who knew?? So, due to being immersed in this, I just don't have as much time as I used to - at least, for certain activities. I don't see how Rick does it - maintains (very well, I might add) all of the Internet sites that he does, because I know he is way busy with other things as well - yet he does an outstanding job of keeping-up and improving each site. Kudos to you. I maintain one MySpace page - one ShoutLife page, my two blogs, and I write on this forum and that is the extent of my on line commitments. I shut down my FaceBook account as I simply had no more energy for the Internet. Having said that, I'm getting ready to develop a NEW MySpace page for an artist, and will maintain it for them. I have a friend in the UK who maintains her own MySpace and Facebook ages (and they are LOADED with great material and information); plus she runs the James Fox MySpace and FaceBook pages, is a moderator on his fan site, www.jamesfox.biz, and recently, she has taken on the management of Darren Holden's fan site, and another as well, as Darren is a member of a group called The High Kings, and this fun lady also takes good care of that site, too. So let's see....that's 7 sites, besides her own! She's quite versed in photo shop, and has made some fun banners for my pages, like "click links" for being able to purchase Palm and Frank's CD's. I want to make it as easy as possible for them to be purchased, you know. I've told her repeatedly that I can't imagine how she does all of this, and she tells me repeatedly that it is ALL that she does, except when she travels all over the UK to see these artists when they perform. I know in part how she does it - she is literally on line nearly 24/7. She told me in a recent conversation that she works on this via her "tele" when at lunch, and or on the train home from work, and she has James pages, Darren's pages, her pages and the High Kings pages up and open every hour of the day, working on them from somewhere. Amazing! I suppose we understand each other, as we both enjoy supporting, marketing and promoting our "artists" and so, being able to actually write about them, explain about their music, announce their upcoming shows, and maintain their pages are something WE can do for them, and we do seemingly enjoy it. So there you have it. Anytime you'd like, feel free to stop by my blogs - typically I have a new post up every couple of months, or so.....the links are: martinis-musings.blogspot.com/ for Palma's site, and ramblingsregardingrendo.blogspot.com/ for information about Frank. I look back on the 24 pages of my musings, and your comments, to see that we've now been through a couple of "Fall" seasons together here. The leaves are falling off of some trees, and are just starting to turn on others. Yet, we continue to have lots of rain, and/or 80 degree weather; consequently the grass continues to grow, and I'm taking care of the yard, as well as the other stuff I've mentioned. We're looking at doing some traveling perhaps next month, and that will be nice. Not sure if we're going to the East or the West coast, this time, but I'm sure it will be grand, wherever we end up. Time for me to go. Hey Rick, try as I might, I'm STILL leaving over 50,000 characters I could use up if I just sat here and wrote more in this post. Just kidding...... I do love this little counter, though. But I don't think that even I could use up all the possible characters in one post! And you're grateful for that on many levels, I feel quite sure. Thanks for letting me "muse" to you a bit this evening. I wish each and every one of you a marvelous Fall season - enjoy! Plus, I want you to know I'm grateful for each of you, and hope to hear from each of you right here in Tim's Corner. Let us all know what's going on in YOUR life. It's always fun to read about YOU!!! Until next time, I wish you all the best from here in my corner, Tim

:DHi Tim! It's a real pleasure to read your musings with the interesting stuff they have, too! Wish I had been to your concert - the repertoire was just wonderful and to my liking. Too bad that tape was destroyed - please record some new stuff (for sale)- I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one here interested? How about those tracks you made at Tiki? I solved the fight against viruses and trojans and what have you, by changing to Mac (at home) - no problems in three years! This is no advertisement though, Windows PC's are alright in my opinion too.

First, let me say thanks to you Timo, and to you, O.E. I appreciate your comments. Interestingly, after MONTHS of scouring the Internet Search Engines, and many e-mail attempts to reach Martin Nievera, the CONCERT KING of the Philippines, I was quite surprised on Monday Morning to have two emails from Martin. Palma, Fred, and Frank will be going backstage to meet Martin at his November 9th concert in Atlantic City, NJ. It's a long story how I happened onto that information - but in a nutshell, I found the concert posting just a couple of weeks ago, and then plans were made. Martin is, seemingly, a very nice individual. His e-mail was friendly and warm. Apparently, in attempting to find him, I wrote to his aunt (I have to laugh, here - who knew?) I also wrote to a friend of his in LA, and finally, I sent two letters to the Philippines - one to his record company, and the other to his management company. He said he hadn't been pursued so strongly EVER before, and he laughed, then. At any rate, I'm quite excited about this turn of events. There's much more to the story, but suffice it to say, these two meeting I believe will be beneficial for both of them. We'll see. Until I can write more, I wish you all the best from here in my corner, Tim

For stopping by Tim's Corner. Hi everyone. And how is everyone doing? I have heard personally from several of you recently, and I'm so pleased to know what you've been up to, and how well everyone is doing. Stay well, and happy. It was a nice surprise for me today to see my friend Frank as a new member of our forum. It seems that Frank and I talk to each other through cyberspace in many areas. I reactivated my FaceBook account this week ( I KNOW !!!!) and we both have FB accounts, MySpace accounts, ReverbNation accounts, and ShoutLife accounts. I'm sure Frank has more, but this is WAY enough for me. I've pretty much left those accounts alone this week, as I really wanted to spend some time, here. I have been able to catch-up on some reading here, and visited the Internationally Global area, as well as our own Rick Henry's World, and have had some time to actually make some comments, too. YAY! It feels good to be able to just relax and catch-up with you all. I've sent a few e-mails to some of our forum members who have drifted away, hoping perhaps they, too, will return and add some conversation here. Pretty soon, we'll be using some of the Christmas emoticons....thanks for adding some really fun new "smilies", Rick. I enjoy spicing up my posts with them. We've actually had one full week of winter-like weather here. It was down in the 20's, so we've had our first real hard freeze, but it's back up in the mid 60's this week. Hey, that's just fine with me. I'm not a winter person. I'm a spring/summer kind of guy. Musically, I've been learning some Daniel Nahmod music, and trying to upgrade my recording abilities. Just this week, I got a new MacBook. Hmmm.....I'm not sure at all how to use it, but it's got some outstanding software on it, and I've my own to add to it. The thing I've been told about a Mac is that one is able to load it up much more than a PC, without slowing it down so much it's no fun to use. So, we'll see. I can use my CoolEditPro software with the Mac, then, and it's a much more "user friendly" as well as what I consider a much more professional sound than my 8-track. Both have their place in the scheme of things. That said, last night, I was moving e-mails onto my flash drive from my old laptop, hoping to clean it up as much as possible, so it can run faster, and it can be used as needed for whatever reason. I was moving e-mails from 2005 (I KNOW !!!) off the computer, and ran across a whole lot of the nicest e-mails from our honorary member, Jim Hutchinson. I read almost each one of them (and found it was almost 1 a.m. before I was done, and I didn't even realize it). I'm SO happy I kept all of those e-mails. It was just like talking to Jim all over again. I truly do miss him. And, of course, it was 2005 when I ordered The Broken Cup . The rest, as they say, is history. Yes, there were many e-mails between Palm and I - and most of them I was asking a million and one questions! Oo fah ! How she ever put up with me, I'm not quite sure. But I'm happy she did! Rick, I have to say thanks to you again - thanks for this little corner of the forum. I enjoy being here, and feel quite at home. Yes, it's very, very comfortable and cozy. I appreciate having this outlet for my musings! I'd love to hear from ALL OF YOU. ALL OF YOU! Stop by - let us know what's going on with you - what's the weather like where you are - what's going on with your work - what's happening with your kids? Anything and everything. Tim's Corner is a safe place to stop by, and stay a while. As always happens as I sit here and muse a bit, I always leave here feeling a bit better - having communicated with my Carpenters family. As we head into the holidays, I wish each of you peace, joy, love, and I hope that you find the time to ENJOY these upcoming days of celebration! I think of each of you, fondly. And of course, I wish you all the best from here in my corner, Tim

Thanks Tim, for your tireless work here (I have just now read about he meeting with Martin; your persistence was key to setting this up), and for your commitment to growth in your own art, and for your valuing and respecting the others in this group. You are one of the great models of service here!

Hello again! Thanks, O.E. for your very nice post. I'm curious about something, and will quote PINK FLOYD's "THE WALL" to ask my question...... "IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE?" I'm thinking since O.E. is the only person we've heard from here (that is, after my last post) that perhaps, everyone is busier than can be. I did hear from Rick a couple of times recently, and it was good to hear from him. Thanks for your help, Rick. As always, it was "Rick to the rescue." Some great news...at least, I hope it turns out to be great. Tonight is the night that Palma and Martin Nievera meet! I just spoke to her - she was waiting for Frank and Fred to arrive. They've a bit of a drive up to Queens to get there. See, initially they were going to have backstage passes, and would meet Martin at his show - but, with Palma then having communicated with Martin's Aunt, Ching, directly...they were personally invited to this Meet & Greet - something that happens from time-to-time, where Martin does more of a one-on-one with his guests. Hmmm......So, as I type, they are on their way. I'm excited, because I hope what happens from here will be incredible for both artists. I feel good about being a bit instrumental in this meeting taking place. And, to be honest, the whole idea has felt right from the start. I've been getting e-mails from Martin. He wanted some "background" information on Palma. He told me that this particular show that they will be attending - November 9th in Atlantic City - he had not planned on doing LOVE ME FOR WHAT I AM, until all of this happened, and he realized Palm was going to be in the audience. He sent me a nice e-mail earlier this week, and wanted to be sure he was well educated about her musical background - so he could introduce her from the stage as he got ready to do LOVE ME. Isn't that cool? I would have loved for that to have been a surprise, but actually Palm and I worked on the info to give him, together. I would LOVE to be in that audience to get her reaction, but they have promised to take pictures. So - we will share eventually, when the dust settles. Heck, Frank is a member of the Avenue now, too - so maybe we'll hear a first-hand account of tonight's adventure. And, I think you all might just ought to expect a bit of a surprise to occur here on the forum. But, I'm not going any farther than that. Just have to use your imaginations for today. Right, then! Time to go. Take good care, and DO LET US HEAR FROM YOU - each of you! Stop by, sit a spell, and relax right here in Tim's Corner. As always, I wish you all the best from here in my corner, Tim

Hi Tim! Exciting news really! I really enjoy reading these musings - they make me feel warm as it's getting colder and colder here up north. Now this is getting off the tracks a little bit but could you explain to a real foreigner in these things about Thanksgiving Day? It's in November, right? From what I've gathered it's a lot like Christmas here in Finland - families getting together for a big dinner and catching up what's been happening. And the turkey - we have it at Christmas dinner here (among other things). My question is: what is left for Christmas after Thanksgiving Day (besides Santa of course)?
