Hi All, There are a ton of Christmas songs that I wish they could have covered. From back then and now...
I wish Karen could have recorded An Old Fashioned Christmas...what a beautiful reading by Richard. Very mournful song. Other songs are the ones by those 2 Japanese vocalists...Christmas Turned Blue and another one I cannot seem to remember...
I wish Karen had recorded the other Ave Maria (schubert)...and the now classic...MARY DID YOU KNOW, plus STAR OF BETHLEHEM, BETHLEHEM MORNING, O HOLY NIGHT, O LITTLE TOWN OF BETHLEHEM, WE THREE KINGS, AWAY IN A MANGER, COVENTRY CAROL...and so many other songs...I cannot think of right now..
My thoughts, Cameron clongo83@hotmail.com

I think The Carpenters could have done a cheerful version of "Mary's Boy Child". Boney M did a great version of the song, which I play every Christmas.

:)Don't know if they recorded "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" or a fun oldie "I'm Gettin' Nuttin' For Christmas". A very pretty spiritual song featured on one of my dad's Christmas tapes of the group Bill and Gloria Gaither is called "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem". Abba recorded "I Believe In Angels" and I really like that one too. I always listen with great fondness "Merry Christmas Darling"..I don't know if this is an old song re-done by Carps or one of their own exclusively. And Karen IS very pretty singing that one on one of their Christmas specials with the furry coat and hand muff.

I wish Karen had sung Last Christmas, the song performed by George Michael.

Amy Grant wrote a beautiful Christmas song called "Breath of Heaven" for her "Home for Christmas" CD. I always thought that Karen would have done a great version of that song. Other wish lists: "Christmas Wishes" (I heard by Anne Murray), "The Night Before Christmas" ( Amy Grant and Carly Simon), "Christmas can't be very far away" (Amy Grant) and other classics like "O Holy Night," "O come all ye faithful," "Carol of the Bells,".....

:)I don't think the Carps. recorded it or not, but I love "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music, and also the beautiful (maybe not Christmasy) but also from that same movie "Edelweiss".
