Paul Williams wrote yet another amazing song 30 years ago for the Carpenters and Karen sang one of her best in my opinion. In fact I think its one of the best songs I have ever heard.
My question is I have never seen a music video/promo or performance of this song. Is it available anywhere via concert, variety show, special, talk show, etc.
Also did the Carpenters perform SING on the Robert Young special by chance or was that how they got the inspiration to record the song itself?
Thanks, Aj

Hi AJ...
*I Won't Last A Day Without You* is included in a medley in The Carpenters Very First Television Special - 1976.
The Carpenters didn't performe *Sing* in their appearance on the Robert Young With The Young show..., but, they participate with the children on that song..., it's Arte Johnson who sang *Sing*..., a funny guy.
The TV show and the *Now And Then* album album came out at about the same time. The TV show was due to be aired on March 1, 1973 and *Sing* was the single release at the time. So, good question..., maybe they got the idea from the taping of that show..., some weeks earlier.
In that same show, The Carpenters performed(sync) *Piano Picker*, *Saturday* and (not sync) *Sometimes.Nice to have you here with us.
When you have some time..., give me your YOUR *Top 10* in the thread with the same name... [glow=red,2,300][/glow][shadow=red,left,300] [/shadow][shadow=red,left,300]Roland Chayer[/shadow][shadow=red,left,300] [/shadow]

Hi AJM welcome to The Carpenters Online. As for a video for "I Won't Last A Day Without You", there is a video for the song on the Japanese released "A Video Biography" which is a video/DVD released for karaoke use.

Yes... On that one, A Video Biography Volume 2 to be exact(I have both Vol.1 and Vol.2 on VCD)..., you see some(black and white) footage of Richard with his car collection. The Karen parts, of this *kind of* video, are little sample of the Live At The London Theater(1976). But, the song we hear is the studio version.[glow=red,2,300][/glow][shadow=red,left,300] [/shadow][shadow=red,left,300]Roland Chayer[/shadow][shadow=red,left,300] [/shadow]

Hi...
A Video Biography Vol.2
Live At Budokan - 1974
Thank You For Rock'n'Roll - 1978
..., the last one is a TV appearance of Karen & Richard singing YOM(piano/voice only) and talking about the history of Rock'n'Roll in the late '50s/early 60s.
If I have some more that comes to mind..., I will re-post.[glow=red,2,300][/glow][shadow=red,left,300] [/shadow][shadow=red,left,300]Roland Chayer[/shadow][shadow=red,left,300] [/shadow]
