I've read a lot of literature about connection between eating disorders and people being gay/lesbian.
I know Karen had some bad relationships, and her tomboyish charm was very apparent. Is there anything in Karen's life that may point to the idea that she may have been struggling with her sexuality?

I find this rumor to be totally unfounded. Many many staight women have eating disorders. Yes, Karen had relationship problems, but she was a troubled young woman with a demanding career.

Hi.
I agree with Rick on this one, this rumour is totally unfounded. As for Karen having bad relationships, we have all had them during our lifetime I think and if you add the fact that she had an extreme workload making it very hard to have a relationship aswell as anorexia which did not make it any easier as well, it is no wonder her relationships went wrong.
As for being tomboyish, this is not unusual with young girls, but the majority of them does not become lesbians. Karens anorexia was rooted in other problems such as the power stuggle in the family etc.

Having studied eating disorders and mental health,I don't believe it has any connection with sexuality.
