Hi everyone! Having been a Carpenters fan since the age of 9-(I will be 44 soon! ) I was very happy to find you guys! The Carpenters music helped me through some very hard times in my life and touched me like most music never has since. I fell in love with the Carpenters music the very first time I heard it and continue to love it to this day...I still remember the day Karen died like it was yesterday. So sad. But their beautiful music lives on as some of the best ever recorded and for this I am thankful. I was fortunate enough to see the Carpenters in concert once and receive autographs from them. I wish I could have seen them perform when I was a little older and knew how to appreciate their music more, but I am glad I got to see them at all...so, hi to all of you and God bless! Love, Pam

Hi Pam! Welcome! I am happy to know that you found our "family" of Carpenters fans. We too, love the music of the Carpenters and Karen's hauntingly beautiful voice, which will probably never be heard again. Like others have said, a voice like that comes along once in a lifetime. And her beautiful personality. Along with her talented brother Richard, they made some gorgeous beautiful songs.
Sincerely, Cameron

Welcome aboard, Pam. You'll find a lot of kindred souls here, and we cry on each others' shoulders once in awhile. I'm 48, and remembering the day Karen died is, for me, the same as the day of the Challenger disaster and the Columbia disaster. There are many more, but you get my drift. This is, in my opinion, the best and most active Carpenters community anywhere. Someday I'm gonna figure out how to put my picture on here...

:(Hi Pam, welcome aboard. This really is a fun and informative place to be. As Dave said sometimes we let our true colors show here. But anyway the website is just as great as the forum. Rick is great too, he's always there to help if you have a question about the forum or have an interesting idea, he's always so open to trying anything different. Anyway Pam I sure hope to hear more from you. ;D

I'm 46. Sammy is really right when he says that Rick and all our moderators, keep this site going strong. welcome smoothie
