In about a week the 30-plus disc Singles Box Set will be released of all the Japanese released singles. Each disc will include it's original picture sleeve. This collection will be retailing for $325.00
I am really looking forward to this release and I usually don't spend this much money on any sort of CD collection - but I am so tempted to buy it. I would really love to have this special collection with each individual pic sleeve and hopefully interesting liner notes and packaging.
Anyone else have thoughts on this upcoming release?

I would also like to have this release I forked out a great deal of money on the 13 album Japanese release done in the same fashion. I liked the original mixes of the albums on CD and the individual sleeves. I also do not usually spend this kind of money unless for the Carpenters or the Beatles, For certain choice things that are special I will loosen the purse strings and spend. I am not entirely sure about this price tag but I am sure I will eventually get the singles box set somehow.

Is there a listing of the releases (singles) anywhere?

Here is a link to a Japanese website in regards to additional details, limitations (no translation of liner notes, restricted to only one CD format, may not be original single mix, etc.) and what some of the covers in the 33-singles box set will look like: carpenters4u.net/eg/index.htmlThe CD format used in Japan are the 3" mini-CD size. I have never ordered anything from this website before, so I cannot attest to the quality of its service, but it advertises a price of US$250 + Shipping and Handling, depending on where you live. You might just want to check elsewhere (such as through Rick's link on the main page to Amazon) to get a more compatible CD format.

Is there a listing of the releases (singles) anywhere? The singles released in Japan should be the same as in the U.S. although in japan "Jambalaya" and "The Rainbow Connection" were released as singles and not in the U.S.
There is a listing for this soon to be released collection on the main page of the Carpenters Online at: www.carponline.bravepages.com The listing is near the bottom of the page - just keep scrolling past The Carpenters Online Top Ten and it's just after The Featured Song Of The Month under the heading of Carpenters News - to see more info click on the link that says Click Here to see Singles Collection Box - this is the Japanese import release available to the U.S. market on Amazon.com - this is where I will be purchasing my copy.
Also on the Albums Discography page of The Carpenters Online at: www.carponline.bravepages.com/page5.htm you can see an early rendition of the cover for the set. This you can see almost at the very bottom of the discography page in the listings for Japanese Releases.

Thanks, Rick.
Funny, I skimmed the main carponline page earlier this evening, but I didn't make it to the bottom of the page (I was looking for something else at the time). I should have known to check the main site page first. ;-)

I would SO love to have this upcoming Japenese collection. BUT I just can't justify spending that much money on a collection of songs which I already own several times over! It would be great to have the original pictures sleeves though and I hope one day I will be able to afford the luxury. But first I gotta EAT and pay my bills! We can but dream, eh?

Yes, we can dream Leo. At this point I say I'm going to buy it - but the same with you I won all these songs several times over already. The only reason I would buy it is to have the diiferent pic sleeves - and to have an item which will one day be rare.
Enigma mentioned that he has the 13 Disc Album Box Set - I wish I would have bought that one. I saw it a few times at Pepperland (a privately owned music store in Orange, California) and I almost bought it a few times - and the day I went there ready to buy it - it was gone. Bummer.
I will be more diligent about the Singles Box Set - I'm certain that I want this - though I will buy it from Amazon.com as to give a U.S. retailer the purchase. I want to do this so that U.S. retailers see that there is a demand for any and all Carpenters product here in the U.S.
Here is a direct link to Amazon.com for those of you who live in the U.S. (or Canada): Click Here to see Singles Collection Box
