HI rick/members
If karen was alive today would she probably be still recording as the carpenters/I think she would have branched out into other areas of showbuisness like solo recording,tv acting ,chat show host or even making movies ,i think she would have been great doing all these things, she had charisma and a great personality.what do other members think?.

She was also a funny, funny lady. I can see her doing some kind of light-hearted movie/tv special that revolved around that side of her.
Of course, she wanted to do musicals, too.

I think Carpenters would probably put out a new album ever five years, while Karen would most likely be doing a solo album every five years also. Which means two albums every five years with Karen's voice.
Musically, I think Karen would have remained as she always was - interested in a host of different genres and eras. With Carpenters she'd most likely remain true to the standards and ballads with a few uptempo numbers for balance. Solo, I think Karen's musical tastes would take her all over the map - but generally sticking with the smooth jazz set. That's where Karen started and several of her favorites come from jazz roots as well. I think in her solo career Karen would want her albums to primarily reflect the music of the times. I think she would have worked with an array of different producers and arrangers, songwriters, musicians, etc, in order to produce different types of sounds.
Just seeing how very good time has been to Karen/Carpenters, I believe most everything Karen or Carpenters were to record and release now a days would easily go Gold and most of them eventually platinum.
