I was listening to another mix of Carpenters songs I burned onto a CD and while listening to the song "Help", I realize that there are a few places that I have always sung something different.
"Now I've found, I've changed my mind" (correct) I have always sung something that totally makes no sense..."Now A Found To change my mind" is what I hear Karen say. Just sounds like that.
Another part is when she sings "I know that I just need you like I've never done before" (correct). I have always sung "I know I can treat you like I've never done before".
Finally, the part where she sings "My independence seems to vanish in the haze" is where I sang "vanish in the hay". I guess I was thinking of a needle in a haystack if something was going to vanish in the hay.
Maybe some of what I have always heard Karen really sings cause she does ad lib to some songs like "I'm Caught Between Goodbye and I Love You". In the lyrics from the album, it says that it should be "Give me a reason, WHY I SHOULD STAY HERE" and Karen forms it into a question, "Give me a reason, WHY SHOULD I STAY HERE?"

What is Karen singing in LOVE IS SURRENDER? Does she sing '...you must surrender if you CAN' or "...you must surrender if you CARE'? I always thought it was "can", but later I heard it was "care".
Karen sings the word ending so softly that it is really hard to tell. I noticed she and Richard do this a lot...in leads and background vocals.

Yes, it did help and it makes sense since it was originally a church song that Richard converted to a pop song.
