Yes Rick, this is great- thanks; especially the part about purchasing through the links to support the site. (I don't have much of an idea how internet business works.) O.E.

Yes, it is indeed wonderful that we can do something to help support the site. Rick, I see the links in your thread take us directly to the vendors [i.e., Amazon.com, etc.]. Does the forum benefit only when we use the actual links at the thread you posted at? I just want to be sure that should I make a purchase at some point, that the forum will reap the rewards! Thanks so much! Sincerely, magiclamp

Both the forum and the main Carpenters Online web site are supported by any purchases made through these links - especially the ones in The Carpenters Online Store. Though, in order for Carpenters Online to get credit you must first click on the link and then make your purchase at the web site it takes you to. The Carpenters Online is only affiliated with reputable online vendors such as Amazon.com, Barnes And Noble and ITunes.
Thank you all for wanting to help support the Carpenters Online - it is very much appreciated.
...And just to let everyone know, I've added two more icons to the "smilies" selection. A "Thank You" and a "Rainbow" - the rainbow one was inspired by Dave's great topic about rainbow songs.

Just today (and this happens occasionally) someone expressed interest in hearing an intense dose of Carpenters music and I guess the one of the best ways to generate more potential fans is through gifts as I am able (gifts purchased, as I now know, through the links provided), and through initiating follow-up discussion. A great and worthwhile cause!

Cheers for now, Leo Hi Leo From NYC to London, it's great to be here and share our mutual passion for the Carpenters. I know what a talented songwriter/singer you are, and hope you might share more of your music with the forum. "Hijacked", your latest, is just fantastic. Keep up the good work, and let us know how your career is progressing whenever time allows. Sincerely, Dana [aka magiclamp!]

Yes thanks so much Rick and everybody for making this a Tremendous Site!!!!! ;D...While I'm here, I wanted to also just throw in a little thing or fact I ran across unexpectedly recently. I rented the movie "The Princess Diaries part 2" w/ Anne Hathaway as the teen who becomes a princess w/ J. Andrews help. Anyway, in a cameo shot perhaps 2 shots of him, is Paul Williams ...I thought gee, somehow they need to give him a little more of a part. He just appears near the last of the show in the palace sitting in the crowd as a friend of the royal family featured. He's changed quite a bit of course, over many yrs. I know he's had his bout with drugs and then rehab and that aged him a lot too. Anyway, some of you out there may have noticed or watched that kinda "chick flick".... He wrote "We ON. Just Begun" as well as others and was very instrumental for R. and K.

Hi Katt: Thanks for that post....very cool information. I have watched Princess Diary (the original) and enjoyed it, seeing as how it was based in San Francisco. Magical city. Unusually, they showed a shot as the two of them were out on their "play day" from the back of the Cliff House, a very famous restaurant in the city, which is located on the Pacific side rather than in the Bay. One got a glimpse of "Seal Rocks" in that movie - a site I ALWAYS go to when visiting. I'm amazed to know Paul Williams is in this second movie, but will now have to check out part two. I think Julie Andrews is a wonderful vocalist, and actress...and Anne Hathaway impressed me, as well, in the first flick. Great commedic timing. Paul Williams is responsible for many, many Carpenters gems, including I Won't Last a Day Without You, one of MY personal faves. Thanks for this tidbit of info!!! Tim

Tim Well Tim...How very interesting and exciting for you to know those places in S. Franc.! I haven't been there, but of course, it's a common target for movies, and I know several folks who've been there. Anyway, ;DI saw most of the first Princ. Diar. on tv not long ago, and I knew there was a second one out and it Princ. Diar. II : the Royal Engagemt. I rented the DVD through Netflix, and it has a lot of extra features which are wonderful. and yes, J. Andrews is truly one of the greats of our time. and so...I think Anne Hathaway reminds me of Karen with her dark hair and adventurous spirit. I think Karen would really love it in fact.

I haven't watched either movie but I actually have wanted to see them both - maybe I'll rent the DVD's.
I really enjoy seeing Paul Williams whenever he pops up on anything, he's an interesting character.
He has written several Carpenters gems. Let's see if I can name them all. If I miss any please add on.

???I sure didn't know he wrote all those, I think Paul W. may have had his own tv show, so many did in those days. I surely always enjoyed seeing him and recall hearing him sing some of those songs, although, not such a great singer. He was always interesting to watch and hear talk.
