My vote went to "I just fall in love again" I actually like more Anne Murray's version

I went with "California Dreamin'" as I feel Mamas and Papas version is far superior in the arrangement and musicanship.

I don't really care for the version of "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do". To be honest, I don't care for Neil Sedaka's either and he wrote it.

As much as I enjoyed hearing Karen and Richard's "take" on CALIFORNIA DREAMIN' , for me - the Mama's and Papas original recording still reigns. The seamless marriage of harmonies that John, Cass, Michele and Denny brought forth is pure magic. I've always wondered if Karen and Richard were fans of the Mamas and Papas?! I can't recall any mention of this in interviews throughout the years, but knowing how important harmony was to the Carpenters sound, leads me to believe they appreciated the intricate vocal arrangements that contributed to the success of the M&P's.
