Hi there!
I am getting married in June, and I thought Top of the World would be a great song to dance with my mother to. She used to sing it to me when I was a kid.
The question is, is there a slower version of the song? Maybe something not well known that I could get my hands on? I am sure I could dance to the fast version, but it would be easier if she had a slower one. Any thoughts?
Thanks for your help!

Hi dwbaldwin... Welcome to the forum!
The Carpenters only recorded the song upbeat. Every version of it that I've heard (Lynn Anderson, Sugarcubes, etc) is upbeat.
I love this song. So many of Carpenters songs are perfect for playing during a wedding reception. "Top Of The World" is one of my particular favorites.

Thanks Rick Henry! Out of curiosity, have you seen people slow dance to Top of the World, and how did it look? I suppose if you move on every other beat, it would work, but I'd love to hear from someone with experience. I might, just might, go with the Lynn Anderson version as country (in my mind) always seems a bit easier to dance slow to. Thanks again!

Talkin of slowdance. Instead of T O T W why dont you opt for "Slowdance" from "Lovelines" In my view a VERY suitable song for a wedding smooch. Last year on TV in the UK " Make Believe its yr 1st time was used as a slow number by to skate to by a duo on an ice skating routine/show/event...not sure wether it was a Torvil & Dean thing or what as I only caught I just caught the last 2 mins of it.....Also Touch Me When Were Dancin is a real good smoocher too.
