Yes, many of you have emails in your personal email boxes on this forum....if you didn't pick them up. We had very good response from forum members who wanted to see Rick get this opportunity. For those of you who don't know, we had Rick set up to sit at the table with Richard Carpenter and his family for dinner, courtesy of Becky Boxberger. Becky had also arranged, as Rick mentioned, for Rick to have a photo op with Richard, and an opportunity for a short interview with him. DAVE IS THE MAN!!!! Dave is the guy who was actually set to purchase the ticket, and he and I came up with the idea at the same time. But, to no surprise, all of you were very positive about the idea (all that I got to speak with). Becky Boxberger was also QUITE helpful....after several emails back and forth between Dave, Becky and me, we did get everything arranged for a VIP ticket for Rick. Unfortunately, we just didn't have enough TIME to pull it all off. There could certainly be a next time, yes? ? Hey Rick, we're sorry you weren't able to go, but never fear...if we have our way, there WILL be a next time. Thanks for all your efforts on this Dave. You're the man. And thanks to all the forum members who responded to my emails. We (Dave and I) appreciate cha!!! PS - I have invited Richard to stop by the forum - told him how to start a new thread, and asked him if he would say hello. We'll see...... Tim

Actually, it was an idea that I'd been mulling over, but when Tim asked me what I thought about sending Mr. Rick into orbit, I realized that it was no coincidence. There is a phrase in the movie "Field of Dreams", when Ray Kinsella says to Terence Mann "You once wrote that there comes a time when the universe opens itself up for a few seconds and shows you what's possible". For those of you who have seen the photos of me and my family with former NASA Administrator Sean O'Keefe, you understand the truth to the statement. I normally don't have $250 to spare, but I did have a good mileage reimbursement last month, so the money, or "fuel", was no problem. Rick's description of what the wolf of depression did to him is pretty accurate. It's just that the timing was unfortunate. But fear not! Tim, Becky, and I are already scheming on our next "plan". We're gonna send Mr. Rick to the "Top Of The World" one way or another....it's just a matter of time. My thanks to the many "undicted co-conspirators" out there. Your hearts were in the right place. Like I told you, Rick, you're never alone. Next time you start feeling like you did, you can drop any of us a line, and we'll be there for you. One day, we'll have our photo of "Two Richards" standing together, and then the rumors that you are actually the same person can be put to rest...hee hee!

Hi Rick, I'm new and I've just been reading through the posts and learning my way around. It looks like you missed an opportunity but those things happen and from what I've been reading, you will be going to that concert eventually...looks like you have some very good friends...I'm sure you must have earned all the love and support. Everything happens for a reason, I believe. God Bless .....Ginger
