Every bodys laughin at me cos I wanna do a sequell to the book B>M. Brokeback Mountain the film has so affected me that that I am tryin to do a further chapter to it & of course Richard & Karen would be mentioned in it on several occasions..However this is in the aerly stages as I have written to the author for permission to use her original charactor names & also iron out all the copyrightlaws etc....it may happen or not but im gonna try...".How can you incorperate the Carps in it?" scoffs my other half? its set in Wyoming & is C & W to which I retort that there coulda been a radio on playin in the background playin a Cs song to which I will make one of the charactors referr to it at the time. My best mate Who starts howling like a wolf everytime I play a Cs song in his earshot is thinking about havin me committed says Ive finallly lost the plot. In my view ANYTHING that keeps the Cs legacy alive is a good idea. I have a good idea for the story in my mind so if I get the go ahead from all concerned me gonna do it. If anyone on this site knows anything at all about Wyoming & the surrounding area I may be grate ful for a little advice so I can keep the story accurate as poss. Wish me luck....oh & do see the film...at your peril. Ken carps1000

I have read that Annie Proulx is not planning to continue writing more on the saga herself, but certainly you can always let your creativity run free by combining your favorite music with literary/movie characters that have such a strong impact on you. Whether or not you get published beyond web postings, you can always enjoy exercising your imagination on what might have happened! (As some fans on this website have written in the "Stories about Karen" section of the forum, Karen's life could have evolved further in more resplendent ways if only words could make wishes come true.) I would be interested in hearing your basic plot line for the sequel and the music selections. I can think of several Carpenters' songs that would be perfect for this movie! GoodOldDreams

Someone else on the forum mentioned in another thread (of similar topic) that they thought "Desperado" would fit well in this movie.

Wasn't "Everybody's laughin' at me" a line from the Nilsson song from the movie "Midnight Cowboy"? Guess what? I haven't seen the movie, and probably won't. But then again, the last movie I saw was "What The (Bleep) Do We Know?" I didn't even see "Star Wars Part 3". I might see "The World's Fastest Indian" or maybe the new "Pink Panther" movie. I definitely will see "Dead Men's Chest", the sequel to "Pirates of the Carribean". Someone once said that the secret to writing a successful sequel is to be true to the original. To the writers' garrett with you, then! Enjoy!

Wasn't "Everybody's laughin' at me" a line from the Nilsson song from the movie "Midnight Cowboy"? ... Actually the song goes as: "Everybody's talkin' at me / I don't hear a word they're sayin' / Only the echoes of my mind..."

Once again, well said Tim....my thoughts exactly...There are many who may scoff Ken, but, everyone has their own goals, and so take your best shots...and it also comes to my mind also, that just about any show you can think of, there's probably a C's song(s) that would fit the story...
