???I did some research at Alta Vista and the sountrack is not available or any other information other than music and Lyrics by Fred Carlin who provided the theme, which is also the title for the movie.
It seems strange that the producers would not want Karen Carpenter to provide the vocal. There must be a story behind this decision.

No, I think Karen recorded the song after the song was on the tv movie...

No, I think Karen recorded the song after the song was on the tv movie... Cam I've heard this also. But it's not in the liner notes from "As Time Goes By". Maybe it was on one of the Carpenters forums.
Regardless, I love this song. It does sound a bit dated with some of it's instrumentation. I don't really care for the horns at the opening - but other than that this is one of the very best Carpenters songs to be released since Karen's passing.
