It is uncanny the way so many songs recorded by the Carpenters parallell the actual events that took place in Karens life but at the time they were recorded this was certainly not there intention. If this was the intent, that would make them the first clarvoyant recording artists and if they did know the future I am sure they would have done everything possible to avoid what happened.

These songs were chosen because they sounded so fantastic when Karen sang them.
