"Jambalaya" is featured on the 1973 album "Now And Then". The song was a hit in 1974 in England, Japan, Mexico and other countries in Europe.
What do you think of this song?

Its between an Its OK and I Love It. The song itself is good but what really makes me like it is the fun Karen had doing the song. Its an upbeat song and everytime I have seen Karen perform it she is having a ball. Its a really nice break from the usual soulful ballads Karen has mastered and perfected.

I had to go with an "I Love It". "Jambalaya" has always been a favorite of mine. I just love the upbeat fun of it. It's too bad it wasn't released as a single in the U.S. I feel it could have been a top five hit in U.S. 1974. Tony Peluso's guitar work was great and the percussion of this song really gets it moving.

How funny Roland! I saw that when I read your first post and I just chuckled about it and thought Roland made a typo. You must have had hockey on the mind.

Oh yes..., we didn't have any hockey for the last year an a half.
Great start for The Montreal Canadiens..., two wins in two games..., one in Boston, the other in New York.
..., it's Jambalaya time. [glow=red,2,300][/glow][shadow=red,left,300] [/shadow][shadow=red,left,300]Roland Chayer[/shadow][shadow=red,left,300] [/shadow]

Even if I didn't like this song, I'd have to say I love it because this is the song Karen was singing when I was able to go up to the first 3 rows and squat in the aisle while I took pictures of her and stared at her the whole time. I can't even tell you what was around her, only her singing Jambalaya.......aaaaahhhhh!!!

I can see why the song will most likely always have a special place in your heart.

It got to NO 12 in the UK. I vaguely remember it being shown on top Of The Pops here but not knowing who was singing it at the time quickly forgot it till I heard K singing it on the N & T LP. The single Limped & roared up the charts here spending a total of 18 weeks if im correct & was the last 45 to feature the Mustard Green Label for a Cs UK single Its B-side was Yr W Parade. A GEM & The Cs AT THEIR BEST. Ken Carps 100000000000 so U dont have 2 B

Again, I chose LEAVE IT. I never was a fan of this song. It's ok, I guess, but one, that I never put on any compilations I make.

I kind of go along with Enigma on this one..between ok and i love it, tho i put it's ok. I never was a great fan of the song at any time, but i do like the soft harmony and it's upbeat. Like C's version of course better than Hank Williams... Since there are a lot of bluesy songs altogether, I'm glad they recorded this because it's upbeat.
