Wow Rick, what a great picture of Karen playing that you've used here as the background for the forum. Is this a video capture from "Dancing In The Street?" It's just a great capture. It makes me want to go play the song!
Thanks for this great upbeat, fun, extraordinarily well done website. I repeat myself when I say that I know how much time and effort you must put into it, and I also know you do it out of love for Carpenters, and for Carpenter fans, as well. Kudos to you, my friend. It looks GREAT!!! Tim

I'm not to sure but I think this picture (which I believe is a capture from a DVD/Video) is from 1970 or possibly 1969.
I plucked the picture from the forum's Pictures Galore gallery. I believe Cam posted the pic. Anyway I think Karen looks extraordinarily good in this picture and I love her drums.
You are welcome. Yes, Tim I do this out of love of Carpenters and Karen's beautiful voice. I also do this for Carpenters fans so we will always have a vast resource of information anytime we want it. But I must say I haven't done it alone. All of you help me tons. Carpenters Online is a group effort.

Well Tim you beat me to it on my next reply I was going to compliment that picture I believe its from 1969 we'll have to get cam to confirm this. I think it was called the great American College Show though I am not certain. I have seen most of this clip and its amazing especially when Karen does a mini solo at the end of the song or near the end it just blew me away seeing a young cute Karen singing and drumming live not lip sinced and doing a mini solo showing that she was a great drummer. This is one of my favorite performances by Karen and it was funny that them host intoduced them as the Dick Carpenter Trio wish I could find the entire performance somewhere. Great Picture Rick/Cam Karen is simply adorable it always makes me smile to see Karen at such a young age full of life. This video really sums up why I love and respect Karen as much as I do I simply love it! Also yes I agree on the comments about the web site I am so happy I found a group of people who not only love The Carpenters but love each other as well. Ma Famile My Family I greatly like and respect everyone here especially Rick and company who made this website possible and introduced me the the best people in cyberspace. Thanks to all for making the second home of mind a warm and loving one time for my tissue lol.
