$&? $&?
January 1975 is the time period when I really got into the whole music thing. I loved music before that and had been buying 8-track tapes and record albums since around early 1972. but it wasn't until January 1975 that (age 15) I went full bloom with the whole music thing. And it was "Please Mr. Postman" that did the trick. I loved that song so much that I would sit there for an hour or two with my radio channel surfing for the song. I rmember one time I heard the song something like five or six times in one hour. I was in "Postman" heaven.
Anyway here's some memories for those of you who were around in january 1975. These are some songs that were on the charts in that month.
Please Mr. Postman - Carpenters Some Kind Of Wonderful - Grand Funk Pick Up The Pieces - Average White Band Laughter In The Rain - Neil Sedaka Junior's Farm - Paul McCartney Boogie On Reggae Woman - Stevie Wonder Doctor's Orders - Carol Douglas Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds - Elton John Sweet Surrender - John Denver Bungle In The Jungle - Jethro Tull Kung Fu Fighting - Carl Douglas Can't Get It Out Of My Head - Electric Light Orchestra Ride 'Em Cowboy - Paul Davis Blackwater - Doobie Brothers Nightengale - Carole King Never Can Say Goodbye - Gloria Gaynor The Best Of My Love - Eagles I'm a Woman - Maria Muldaur
