Oddly enough Beth I just happened to fall asleep watching TV and woke up to the Today show I don't normally watch the show but just decided to sit through it for some reason. I was quite surprised when the owner of the horse chose Postman as the song I guess it had something to do with the mailbox trick where the horse retieved a letter by opening a closed mailbox and getting the letter. What did kind of surprise me was the use of the Carpenters version as opposed to another artist nonetheless it was cool to hear the Carpenters on national TV even if it was in the background. I also thought it was great Beth.

What did kind of surprise me was the use of the Carpenters version as opposed to another artist nonetheless it was cool to hear the Carpenters on national TV even if it was in the background. I also thought it was great Beth. Interesting that you should say this Enigma. About a year ago on a forum called Yesteryears (I'm not to sure of the forum name but it was something like Yesteryears). They had a poll asking who's version of PMP do you like best. They listed Marvelettes, Beatles and Carpenters. Something like 80 people voted. I was surprised at the results. Marvelettes came in third with only about 8 votes. second was the Beatles with something around 30 votes and Carpenters took the rest of the votes. and this wasn't even a Carpenters forum. it was a general music form and the majority of people by a decent margin preferred Carpenters recording of the song. i think as time goes on PMP is becoming known more as a Carpenters song, especially in parts of the world other than the U.S. Such as in Japan I believe PMP is primarily known as a Carpenters song.
