$@ L- "Love Me for What I Am"... A wonderful song from the Carpenters' best album "Horizon". I particularly like this song because it shows strength in saying "you've got to love me for what I am". I tend to enjoy songs that are bold and strong in personality.

@@ M Made In America - this album was not well received by some fans and critics alike. There are lots of things I DO like about this album, however - and one of the tunes I especially like that is never discussed is Strength of a Woman. I find it to be a simple tune, but in the country music world, I think it could have been done by other artists to success as a single. I LOVE it!

Yes, Tim... *Made In America* is a GREAT Album... Somewhere in my things, Karen and Richard say that *Made In America* and *A Song For You* are their favorite Carpenters albums.
Personally, two songs on *Made In America* are in my Top 10, those are *Because We Are In Love (The Wedding Song)* and *Those Good Old Dreams*..., 2 others are on my Top 30, those are *Somebody's Been Lyin'* and *When It's Gone (It's Just Gone)*. Great Album.

I never considered "Strength Of A Woman" to be a country song. I always felt it was more of a smooth pop R&B song. Though I can certainly see it being done by a current day country artist. Martina McBride could do it nicely. *side note - Martina has to be one of the finest female vocalists to hit the scene in the last ten to fifteen years. *Note to enigma... silly me I completely skipped over the letter "I". on to the next letter: N - "No one in the world. ever had a love as sweet as my love" - lyric to the song "Hurting Each Other" - first word starts with an "N".

Silly me again... I didn't even notice that Roland posted for the letter "N". Guess, I've been working too hard lately. well then here is letter "O" O - "Our Day Will Come". What a great song in which karen uses here deep rich voice.

@@ R Reason to Believe - this number IS truly a little country diddy - and when I first heard it, though I liked it, I didn't understand WHY the Carpenters decided to do a country song....though it has become a favorite listen.

[glow=red,2,300]$% [/glow] S - Studio D which was considered Richard's domain at A&M records. The studio had been recently rebuilt with all kinds of new equipment just beofre the recording of the 1975 album "Horizon".

X - wow this is a tough one. but there must be an X word somewhere that would fit. Okay I've come up with one. It's a long shot, but I think it works. X is for the Roman numeral five. Here are a few Carpenters X releases. "Now and then" was their fifth album release. "Rainy Days And Mondays" was their fifth single release. The Carpenters scored five number two hits.
