Hello I am Ted Etheridge from eastern NC and have been a fan since Close to You was all over the radio as a five year old. I was lucky enough to have my living mother aquire tickets for their Greenville show in April of 72. I was only 7 then and have faint memories of the excitement but being so young on a school night i got tired my mom said but it was my very first concert! The first time I found a video that was recorded live from that year, it bright back many more memories. I can’t even begin to guess how much money I have spent on CDs, Vinyl and every import I could get my hands on. There aren’t many I don’t have. I love the earlier music most since they seemed to be so fired up with energy till the road began to wear them out. I still love everything the did but music can be like a time machine and being so young when they were in their prime, I can hear a certain song and instantly think of where I was when any particular song was playing. So the Carpenters were my favorite duo still to this day and I think Richard has given us so much to enjoy with all the remixes. It’s fun to hear how they can sound so alive and vibrant and this latest Orchestral work is a masterpiece!!! Man I wish I could have been a fly on the wall when they were in the studio in the early days. Thanks for accepting me in your ranks and Happy New Year!
