3 stars for this...not one of my faves, although, it's one of those that I like it more than I used to...kinda grows on 'ya...From the first time I heard it, my first thought is that is surely is somewhat different than others...it's upbeat and Karen sings it seemingly with a grin of fun on her face...she has fun with it.

***** yes, 5 big stars! This song moves along. It is a serious message (I'm tired...you take care of it)/feeling(leave me alone), but coated with a tongue-in-cheek delivery. Karen and all the band sound very "up". I also like that low "B'wana" that Richard throws in.

FIVE STARS... all the way...
This song is an absolute essential. This one is a reminder to us all that Carpenters were and have always been more than just singers of love songs. They were very versatile musicians. They were musicians in the highest sense.
Musically speaking this is one of Carpenters' very best works with it's intricate electric jazz guitar chords, smooth flowing R&B percussions and outstanding woodwind and keyboard parts. All this is topped by Karen's seductive and silky smooth vocal.
In this song I hear bits which remind of Sade, Santana, War and tons of Carpenters.
In one word OUTSTANDING.
I salute the Carpenters for being brave enough to go out on a limb and record the types of songs they really wanted to record.

???I listened to it once again, and as far as musically all the way around, no doubt, all that comes together and says Jazz....and as far as those efforts, it's right on the spot... It reminds me a lot of the opening theme song for the Cosby show....(Cosby, very much stresses in the show how much he loves jazz...and anyway, I'm sure he'd love it also) I love saxophones and it really delivers in this song. AND HEY RICK...ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, TOTALLY...LOVE THE SLIDE SHOW OF OUR FAVE DYNAMIC DUO!!!!! HOW VERY CREATIVE, COLORFUL, BEAUTIFUL SHOTS. FITS IN VERY WELL TO A WONDERFUL REMEMBRANCE OF LOVELY kAREN AND THE CARPS. AS THEY WERE... AND STILL ARE MUSICALLY VERY ALIVE..! THE BUBBLES ARE CUTE TOO!

4 Stars - This is a fun listen, but not an all time fave. I gave it four stars because Carpenters DID it so well. I like the rhythm of the song, and it's DEFINITELY a departure from the love songs Karen sang so excellently. I'm convinced that Karen could have sung any genre of music - Country (and this song is both country and jazz flavored), rock, jazz, even some of the "heavier" stuff, had the arrangement been right for it. Her dark deep basement voice could have worked so many places. This song is indicative of her abilities. It seemed she had fun with this tune, and she certainly pulled it off, well. Tim

This song just grows on you. I mean, at first I was a bit surprised, not being familiar with it at all, but with every new listening I'm loving it more and more! Five stars and tomorrow it very well could be six...

The song is truly a gem. I was a bit disappointed it's not included in The Essential Carpenters CD-box. Do you know of Richard's thoughts about the song? Have you discussed the selections for the Box here earlier, btw?

I always wished The Carpenters had put out a Jazz album and this cut proves that they could have really knocked it out of the park had they recorded a Jazz CD. This performance by the group and Richard and Karen are near perfect. I can't give a higher compliment then that. WOW!! Thank you Carpenters for recording this playful yet sophisticated song. Love it!
The back up vocals are superb! The Jazz cord changes are yummy!!
