Here's a new game for the Carpenters Online. It's the 70's Music Contest.
Two songs (which are similar in sound and style and from the same time period) will compete with each other to see which is the most remembered and favored.
For the first edition of this game I have chosen "Old Days" by Chicago and "Bad Time" by Grand Funk.
Both songs reached the Billboard Top Five ("Old Days" #5 and "Bad Times" #4). They were both on the top charts primarily in May and June 1975.They both have a similar pop-rock male lead vocal sound.
Which one do you like better.
After four rounds - with four winners we'll have a round-up contest and vote between the four winning songs which should all be from different styles and time periods from the 70's.
Just to be fair Carpenters will not be included in this game. Boo Hoo...

Chicago did a lot of fun, up beat songs. I remember they stood out, because they used brass instruments, too . . . not just the standard guitar, bass, and drum combo that most bands used.
Old Days gets my vote!

I went with Old Days I loved Chicago's older stuff from the hard hitting drums to Terry Kaths great guitar fills and the signature Chicago horn section this song is really good. I also like the nastagic lyrics. TAK RIP

I am going with Chicago's "Old Days." Enigma, you've pretty much said it all!

I have to go along with the majority here. "Old Days" is a big favorite of mine. Chicage has recorded much excellent music... they are one of the all-time great bands.
I will let this poll run one more day and I will start the next 70's Music Game.

Looks like Chicago's "Old Days" is the unanimous favorite here. Therefore "Old Days" will be entered into the face-off round.
