Hey guys, I found this easily on BBC Radio 2 on line. This will air at 2:30 PM CST (6 hours difference for central time zone). So you can calculate your own air times accordingly. And I know you guys outside the US can find your corresponding times easily enough as well! If you're looking for it, within the broadcast schedule, the program's name is YESTERDAY ONCE MORE. Here's a Link: www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/listings/day.shtml?day=tuesdayCan't wait to hear it!

This would be the breakdown for US PM air times going east to west: EST 3:30 CST 2:30 MST 1:30 PST 12.30 These times translate to 8:30 PM UK time. Here's a link that shows times around the world in relation to your own. If you type "time zones" in your web browser, you can find other similar time calculators just in case this one doesn't work. www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/

Do hope Rick and others not based in UK can access BBC Radio 2 website and be able to listen to this great new series :
New interviews with Phil Ramone on Solo Album / sessions , Karen Ramone , other childhood friends , various musicians , Brian Southall A&M Publicist and many others....
Archive interviews from Karen & Richard , Carpenters parents , Herb Alpert , Bacharach etc ....doubt Richard has contributed new material as much left over in BBC archive ....and since series focuses more on Karen as a person , as female musician and personal issues -Richard will let others speak .....
Great Carpenters classics , tracks from recent ATGB Album and some Karen Drum Solos -perhaps from Palladium Live Album or TV Specials ....
All Great stuff for the fans and longterm admirers .....
Happy listening

I'm listening to the program as I write this. It's very well put together. I hope all who want could find. I figured anyone with the tech knowledge to access this web site could follow my instructions above! But you never know.
FYI to others ... I notice these BBC broadcasts can be seen for some time after original airing ... seven days, I think?
Thanks for the one up!

:'(hope this reply finally shows up...thanks so much Peteruk and Rick for linking us to the BBC site. I had no trouble connecting to it or listening to it. The interviews are so very interesting and informative giving us great insight into the behind the scenes of their music. My heart aches once again to hear the people who knew Karen and Richard as they were and to hear Karen singing. It's a good thing though to know that their music lives on and that Karen found the confidence she needed to get out from behind those drums ! She acheived great success at doing something she loved even though it proved to take a fatal toll on her health. It's important for us all to know that even though she had a perfect beautiful voice that she and Richard and their family had a lot of negative stuff going on behind all that, it just is terribly sad that she's not with us anymore. Heaven's gain though.

Thank you Peteruk and Rick for the information on the BBC series. I've listened to it twice. It's great that Karen is alive with us in spirit.

I listened to the interviews twice now. It gave me insight also when they were talking about how Richard's part of their musical shows seemed to leave him in the background since Karen's voice and presence was more evident. This aspect of their success did not set too well with their mom at first because Richard was the one who initally was supposed to be the great talent (and he surely was) whereas even though Mrs. Carpenter, loved both Richard and Karen, there was a part of her that always wanted Richard to be considered THE STAR and not so much Karen. In the BBC interviews, after talking about those things, you hear "Close to You" being sung. In my mind, I had the thought that those words must have fit in with how Karen felt about their popularity. Both she and Richard surely respected and loved each other's talents, but I think Karen must have felt inferior to him because he had seemed destined to make a big name for himself with the piano, whereas, it was almost a fluke that she came into the picture and became famous also. I don't think she felt jealous at all of him or vice versa. They worked very well together. He may have been the one that the "angels sprinkled moondust in his hair and golden starlight in his eyes" and even though the world loved her for being herself, she always had that "I'll never be quite as talented as Richard, because he is big brother." I never had really thought of Close to you in that aspect before. Anyway, I never really heard the "Calling Occupants of Inter. Craft" very much in my recollection, and hearing it on the BBC thing, was really great. Seems like a hard song to have to sing, but of course, just like breathing Karen never misses a beat. It's a fun song.

Listening now.
This is a great.
Interesting. You listen to Karen speak and you think, 'well that's a pleasant voice' but I'd never guess that she would have such a great singing voice based on her speaking voice.
