My tears are ever falling for this wonderful lady who was one of the best friends I have ever had in my life. We have lost a stellar conductor, music director, singer/songwriter, producer and performer. PALMA, I love you.

It is difficult when you are as close to someone as Frank, Copey and I are/were to Palma. Each of us had our own unique relationship with her - but we all had a close personal friendship that Palma paid attention to! She was just that way. We would often talk about others in our conversations, and I know how happy she was to have such close, dear friends. As Dave said in his post, especially at first, I was amazed to have been counted among them; nevertheless, it didn't take long to get used to because I felt very at ease with Palm from the git-go.. We talked often - and that is one thing I will miss SO much - not getting to talk with her. Just wanted to share here how sweet she was when we saw her in July. Though she was in her hospital bed for almost a month by that time - and though she was connected to more tubes and wires than you can imagine, she was, nevertheless, HAPPY, smiling, and full of joy and willing to have us come to the hospital to "visit". She couldn't believe we had come all that way " Just to see me ," she said. OF COURSE we did. It took a lot of arranging, too - and I had to thank Frank and Fred (Guarino) for helping us work it out. The Nassau Hospital was very strict about their visiting hours, so we had to be sure we were on time. We drove from Conn. that morning - took the Ferry across to Long Island, and drove from point A to point B (the hospital) in the POURING RAIN. But, we made it, and with time to spare - time we spent visiting with an animated, quick witted Palma. What a sweet memory. But yes, each of her close friends, and she had many, had their own unique relationship with Palma - what a great thing.

I am uplifted, though of course sad by all that has been said. I have read through the basement party pages Rick and it's wonderful to re-live those moments. I'm sorry also for the loss of your loved ones Beth.

Before this thread goes flying off into the ethos, I wanted to let you know that the good news, Palma's final album WILL BE AVAILABLE in December. I have been asked to arrange 2 selections on her final CD - an honor, I can assure you. I begin that process this weekend, so your prayers would be good, k? I know Palm will be guiding my hands. These are two selections she simply did have the time, literally, to finish. I have also been asked to sing on one of her songs we're including on this CD as a tribute to her. And there is a special surprise on this CD, as well. This will be one CD that will be most special. I will be creating the arrangements from here - and sending them to Fred at Tiki electronically - isn't it amazing what technology can do these days? I am pretty awe struck by it all. I'll be flying to New York w/i the next few weeks to record vocals at Tiki with Fred, Frank and a few more people who have been asked to sing on the tribute number (Al Barbarino, for one - it was Al that Rick contacted to FIND Palm in the first place)....they did a lot of work together. I am humbled and delighted at the same time to be actually "sitting in" for Palma and arranging two of her songs. It won't be HER arrangements, but she will be guiding me, I know. 4 years ago, you'd never have gotten me to believe any of this! But I'd promised to let you know about this CD - and it is going to be available after December 5th. Anyone interested in having a copy, just let me know. Thanks to each of you for your wonderful words. I've passed them along to her family, and her friends in Long Island.

Tim, I think you already know that I would like one. Again, I am so very proud of you, Fred and Frank for all that Palma's CD will undoubtedly bring to those who she kept very close to her as well as anyone who shall own the CD. Palma was so fortunate to have know all THREE of you! God bless Palma! Beaner Hi Beaner! I just got back from New York - it was a wonderful trip, filled iwth all things Palma! We found so many great photos and new music Palma had written, but hadn't brought to the table, yet. I have a lead sheet that I'm working on right now, that she wrote, but no one ever heard, for a Jesus Alive event, which will be held on Long Island to feed the hungry, on 10-10-10. Frank and I worked with Fred in the studio, along with Al Barbarino, and Father Charles and Laurie Mangano. As it turns out, Palma and I are doing one tune together - just she and I. It's called LOOKING BACK I did the arrangement for that one. I also did the arrangement for a song I sang with Frank (and we got Fred to sing too) on - called MINDSET GLORY - I also arranged this one. I sang on a song called THIS MUST BE HEAVEN, which is the most gorgeous song, and I did backing vocals on OPEN HEAVEN. Finally, I sang lead and backing vocals on the tribute song that Palm only had the piano scratch track completed for. Frank and I are providing all of the backing vocals, and we also split the verses and bridge lines with Fr. Charles, Laurie (brother and sister, by the way) and Al Barbarino. I arranged this one in part, and provided several of the instruments. I can't tell you how wonderful it was to work on this album with, and for Palma. But, her absence was quite noticeable in the studio. We certainly spoke of her a lot, wondering what she might have had in mind in this spot - or in that spot. Hoping we were doing the right thing here or there. Fred said, because we were all thinking alike on so many of the items, we must have had an invisible midi-cable linked directly to Palma, cause we all seemed to know the right things to do to make the song the way she wanted it. We worked for many hours on these songs, and Fred has sent me several of the ruf mixes - they sound wonderful. True fans are going to really love this album. Thanks for your comment, Mary Ann. Palma was truly one of my closest friends during these past four years, and I loved her dearly. It is she who is responsible for my friendships with both Fred and Frank - two guys whose friendship I really treasure. I just heard from Fred an hour ago - he finished recording Al Barbarino's part today on A Better Plan, and now, he's ready to do final mixing and mastering of our collective work. The album, THIS MUST BE HEAVEN, will be released December 5th, debued by Frank Rendo at Samantha's Li'l Bit of Heaven. We are also releasing her new worship CD at that time, too. She would want me to tell each of you how much your friendship meant to her. She loved each and every person on this forum that she'd met and had interactions with. So, from Palma "...I love you all...."

Hi Everyone: Last night, I heard in its entirety- for the very first time- the final mastered version of Palma's newest, and sadly, her last album, THIS MUST BE HEAVEN. I can assure you, it was one of the most difficult listens to any album I've ever had; and I likened it very much to listening to VOICE OF THE HEART after Karen's passing. I have written many times about the absolute unparalleled beauty of Palma's compositions, because it's true. However, there is something very extra special about this recording. It is beyond description. I feel so honored to have been such a big part of this final CD. As it ended up, I sang a couple of small solo parts on A BETTER PLAN - and many of the instruments heard are me - Mark Newman played some guitar, and Fred added his lead guitar...very well done. Frank (Rendo) and I provided the harmonies, and Frank, Al Barbarino and Laurie Mangano also had small solo parts on this one. It was done as a "tribute" to Palma. This one was quite interesting - all we had was Palm playing the chords. No melody - no vocal by her. Just the chords. I took the lead sheet, coupled that with the lyric sheet (there were 4, all different, so I used the most recently dated one) - and put the lyrics with the melody of the lead sheet (but there were extra measures - ideas Palm "might" have put in, if she chose) that I had to learn to ignore. But I finally matched what seemed to be the correct melody with the correct lyrics, and played them to her chords. Finally - we had something to work with. Frank and I recorded the guide vocals for the others when I was in New York, and I just heard it last night for the first time, completed and mastered. It came out well, I believe. I also sang backing vocals on 5 songs, and arranged actually 3 other songs....one of them, LOOKING BACK is JUST Palma and me! Imagine how I'm feeling about THAT. I am overwhelmed, to say the least. It came out relatively well, I think. I'm told by her fans that have heard it, that it's seamless - and they would never have been able to tell it wasn't HER playing. WOW - That is a HIGH compliment, me thinks. Listening to this last night was cathartic in some ways, and bitterly sad in other ways. There will be NO MORE MUSIC. (remind you of someone else we know?) We won't have another album. Palm won't be writing any more songs. This, along with her worship CD "I Worship You" is all of the new music there will be....from her. Oh, I have lots of her lead sheets with ideas that she started.....and yes, I'm planning to finish some of the songs she started. And we will record them for her at Tiki. For now, I would just say, come November 21st, the official CD's will be ready. I'm happy to discuss with anyone how to get one - just go to Palma's Memorial Website - not here..... www.palmapascale.com. You can write me from there. Some of you have asked if I will be reviewing this one. YES. Of course. I've much to review of Palma's work, yet. I am not going to stop doing so because she's gone. She would want me to carry on, and that's exactly what I intend to do. And she would want me to tell you all that she loved you very much....because, she did!
