In doing web searhces I found some great information on Tony Peluso. It seems that Tony has kept very busy in the music business. Easily he is the most prolific and influential former Carpenters band member. Since the 70's Peluso has managed to work on at least 130 albums or more (not including his work with Carpenters). Peluso has had various musical roles through the years. As well as playing guitar on many albums he has also done engineering, nixing, producing, recording, songwriting, singing and keyboards. Most recently he's worked with several popular Mexican artists including Liquits, Julieta Venegas, Ricky Martin, Puya, Bersuit, Cafe Tacuba and several others. In 2008 he was the mixing and overdub producer on a Michael Jackson Gold compilation. Other well known artists he's worked with include Deana Carter, Stephanie Mills, Four Tops, Smokey Robinson, Gipsy Kings, Animotion, Selena, Cindy Morgan, Boys II Men, The Fixx, Seals and Crofts and more. The biggest news is the release of his very own album which hit the streets on June 2, 2008. It's called "Mysterious Everything" and is an eclectic mix of alternative and modern rock with a hint of middle eastern sounds. There is a definite late Beatles and early Pink Floyd influence in the music. I am happy to say that Tony is keeping up with the times and has released an album which is very relevant to the current music scene. It is an instrumental guitar based album and is outstanding. I give Tony five stars for this stellar effort. If you are interested in purchasing it you can find it at Amazon.com through the following link. Click Here for Tony Peluso "Mysterious Everything" on amazon.comYou can hear a few sound clips from the album through the following link: Click Here to listen to sound clips from Tony Peluso's albumd Here are a few liner notes from the album: The coincidences in life are sometimes miraculous, especially between human beings. We are all somehow born into a place and a time, and we are all creating our own reality every waking moment. The interactions between us are created out of our past. Life brings us by the hand to every moment our eyes meet. If you think about the chances of this piece of paper somehow landing in your hand in this time and place in all of existence, it might seem like a setup. These songs celebrate the unknown. The incomprehensible. The great mysteries of life. The miracle of our chance interactions, and the ability to communicate a portion of our experiences. ENJOY MYSTERIOUSEVERYTHINGMYSTERIOUS (human beings)

Having had toured with Richard for so long, I am quite curious as to what Richard's opinion is of Tony's album. Has anyone sent in a question to Richard's site regarding this?

Wow Rick Tony should be sending you a cheque he can't buy the kind of plug you are giving his record. I am considering checking this one out his guitar work with the Carpenters really added some punch to their music. I also quite liked his guitar work on Carpenters and I believe I have some of the other work he did as well hes a pretty good guitarist and performer to boot. Thanks for the info.

Are you really sure it's the very same Tony Peluso? Judging from this: www.myspace.com/tonypelusoI'd say he isn't - otherwise he's on a really strange trip at the moment!

I'm a big fan of Tony #1's guitar playing - Rick, have you got this album: rateyourmusic.com/release/album/the_abstracts/the_abstracts/seems to be very interesting, probably very rare too! Looks like Tony has made quite a career working for Motown since the '80's! I just listened to the Michael Jackson album "Farewell My Summer Love" (released with remade backing tracks in 1984) that has Tony on guitar. I tried to come up with more Motown originals that the C's would have played but only remembered two: Dancing In The Street and Please Mr Postman (with excellent guitar work by TP, btw!) - are there any more??

Thanks timo for clearing that up I gues we cant assume an artist who share a name with another well known artist is the same person. I hope to hear from our tony peluso in the near future. I guess my post can also apply to this tony peluso he did get some extra promo and publicity he would not have had he not shared the same name as our tony peluso. he does seem a rather strange fellow though I will pass on this guy.

Interesting coincidence there is another Tony Peluso. Makes me wonder what Tony the guitarist is doing these days.
